They are now 8-1-2. They begin a four game road trip on the 27th with edmonton, calgary on the 28th, san jose on the 30th, and vancouver on november 1st. If they even win two out the four games they might be able to get me to start to believe they are for real. And who are these guys? Seems like a bunch of teenagers. Thoughts

Damn all 4 of those games are gonna be hard for colorado.
I'd be shocked if they make the playoffs. I'm not rooting for them to lose, but when I go down their roster, I'm just not convinced. Craig Anderson just can't keep this up.

I agree with this. They're riding a hot goalie and probably shouldn't have pulled it out tonight. Stellar PK and goaltending helped though. I don't know if they can keep it going for a whole season. I am rooting for them though. Very nice to see they're doing well.

Really?
Duchene/O'Reilly(or Stewart)/Stastny are a nice center lineup.
Hannan/Quincey have been a solid defensive pairing.
Brett Clark is flourishing in the position he's supposed to be playing: 2nd defensive pairing.
New coach who understands something called a system (something Granato never seemed to grasp).
I definitely don't think they'll win the division, but I do think they could challenge for number 7/8 seed in the conference.
They are for real in the sense that they get their players to perform (a stark contrast to the last two years). I think if they end up between 7-10 in the conference they have done well.
They do play a very entertaining brand of hockey and have some players that look to have a good future but they have been outshot pretty much every game. Reality will catch up.

Any place higher than 14th in the conference would be a overachievement.
Short and sweet because it's late and I'm too tired to defend my irrational claims: not even close. By far the most overachieving team in the league so far. I would be shocked if they made the playoffs.
Interesting that even though they went 4-1-2 on a road trip including Detroit, Boston, and Chicago they still get no respect.
Well, not interesting...more like baffling.
And they're doing it without the services of Liles, Salei, Preissing, and more recently Tucker/McLeod. Yes, Anderson has been excellent, but it's not like the Avs are winning 2-1 games; they're 5th in the league in goals for.
I'm not saying they're going to finish first, but they haven't just gotten "lucky" so far.

I'm not saying they're going to finish first, but some of these comments have just been flat out laughable.
boston just flat out SUCKS right now.Thomas is stealing games.
detroit fell apart ....ok osgood fell apart in the 3rd vs the avs
I'm not saying the avs aren't good i'm just pointing that out because theres not much respect to be made in those situations.

Oh, the classic old "they didn't beat us, we beat ourselves."
Gotcha.
This is the worst. I am completely confident in my team. At the moment we have only been beaten by Nashville in regulation...By one goal... we havent lost by more than that all year. Either way every point we get now stays.
They won't win the division or continue at the hot pace they've been on. But I believe they will make the playoffs and finish somewhere in the middle of the standings, 4-6 playoff spot. They are a strong team who continue to get stronger as they get more confident.
I know its only 11 games, but they sure look like a playoff team.
After 11 games, Colorado is tied with Pittsburgh with the highest points percentage in the NHL. I think being tied for the best record in the league is certainly something Aves fans have a right to be happy about.
However, Sabres fans felt the same way when they started 6-0-2 last season and ended up missing the playoffs. Granted, their starting goalie missed a large chunk of the season. The point is that it's good to be excited, but it's not time to get carried away just yet.
The team is for real.
They are most likely over-achieving right now, but they are young.
Even if they aren't in the playoffs this year, you're going to see a lot of highlight reels with these guys as they grow together over the next several years. They're young, and have plenty of time to get better together.
