OT: Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference

Hey all,
Obviously I'm a huge panthers fan and native South Floridian, but I attend school at the University of Florida, where I play for our club hockey team, which practices and plays in Jacksonville and across the Southeast. We receive partial funding from the University and fund the rest through fundraisers, donations, or out of our own pockets. Since there are so many hockey fans on here, I wanted to put it out there that we have a game on October 30th at Jacksonville Ice: The Florida Gators against the University of Georgia Bulldogs. It starts at 7:30 pm and in case you live in the Jacksonville area and would like to come out, it's some spirited live hockey. Obviously it's not the NHL, but it's a fun weekend for all involved with the intense UF-UGA rivalry on the football field in Jax on the Saturday. I hate the Gators (for obvious reasons) but everyone possible should get out and support the college teams, especially in smaller, less well known conferences like this one.

Quite the coincidence. I'm a student at Florida Atlantic University and I'm the broadcaster for the team (when the equipment is working). We have a pretty awesome team that plays right at the Panthers practice facility at Incredible Ice. FAU is actually one of the better teams in the South Region, outscoring opponents 29-0 in our three wins this season. We play a game against USF this Friday at 9 p.m. at Incredible Ice, and I know we play the Gators at some point later on this year. Don't mean to cross promote - just want to see the game of college hockey, especially our schools that get little, and in our case, no funding, some extra attention!
