Signs the Bruins Bandwagon is unloading...ALREADY?

WHY?

We are only 7 games in and there are some telling signs....

Games not being sold out.
Bruins offering LOGE seats for a lot of games at $ 48.00 a seat
Bruins tickets from scalpers are less than half the price of B/O
Bruins STH selling tickets on EBAY for best offer
Bruins fans selling tickets on Craigs list for 50% off Season Ticket Holder pricing
Larry Ridley on 7 News calling them Ice Capades (Oh wait, he does that anyway)
Negative talk on Sports Radio
Negative Media Reports

I am surprised. I for one haven't given up on them, though I am not happy with the moves made by the team (starting with a 5 mil year contract to a 36 year old goalie) over the last 5 months, but I am still not giving up.

I am shocked on how the ticket demand has just sunk quicker than Obamas approval rating.

Did the B's already peak in the Boston sports scene? WOW!

na na na na hey hey hey goodbye bandwagoners!!!!!

I for one like that they are going away, I am sick of hearing Wideman your a beep from the people behind me or the you suck blah blah.. I think we need to gel more and it really hurt us not having a bonding session this year and starting off on the road. I am not giving up, I love this team too much and believe in them...

it's the begining of the season, dude

interest always wanes after opening day hype, and there just insn;t a big enough sample set to make judgement

Go tell me how hard it is to score cheap seats to Wednesday night Sox game against the Royals in April.

give it some time for the season to heat up

There's only one REAL sign the Bruins Bandwagon is unloading: Hockey talk on WEEI's Big Show.

Everyone is still mad about their beloved Red Sox and is just taking out their frustration on the Bruins. Give them until November and hope the Yankees don't win the World Series otherwise the sulking will go on until the Winter Classic.

Balcony is mainly sold out which is a good gauge of the fan base.

HAHAHAH funny you mention that because that same thing was annoying me the whole game last Saturday against the islanders. you can always tell the people in the stands who dont actually watch hockey on a regular basis. they have no idea what they are talking about and usually are the most obnoxious

Tickets have been like this since before the season even started. Theres a ton of scalpers flooding the market with cheap tickets because they wanted to cash in on the Winter Classic.

Same old same old. When's the last time anyway the Bruins were selling out almost every game ? 20 years ago ? It doesn't help that they jacked up the price of tickets in recent years.

People are such cry babies, the Bruins will do fine, and I love the in-flux of youth.

Sure Kobasew was a team guy, but Sob/Marchand were doing too well down in the AHL, these guys need to play, and they will help us out in the long run.
Sure they are young and will make mistakes, but they will do just fine in the NHL mark my words. Give Bergeron someone to play with, the guy has been great this year, and he is playing with Mark "im old and tired" Recchi and Kobasew. Now playing with Sob/Marchand will be a pick me up for this team and we will do just fine.

We don't really need those fans anyways, they are probably the ones that start **** every game and don't know nothing about the sport.I don't remember for a while the Bruins being sold out before January/February when things get interesting and the Pats season is done.Fans will pack the garden come playoff time and to be honest ticket prices are ridiculous if you ask me in Boston, way to expensive

As long as it's not as bad as 6-7 years ago on Halloween night against the Ducks were there was less then 3000 fans, that was horrible

Still works out to a 5 mil cap hit the next 4 years. I would have been fine with 6 mil for 2 years over the 5 mil for 4 years... I love Lucic too, but 4 mil for 25 goals at the very best? In a cap world, we have to be a little more frugal, especially with RFAs. Krecji's deal was good for the B's and for Krecji.

If we buy our TT after 2 years, we have a 2.5 cap hit for 4 more years.

I for one, hate band wagoners, but they will never go away (if the team does well)

It pisses me off that these people don't give a crap until they are good, then they cause a ticket price surge.

Right, which is exactly why it's useful. Nashville, Columbus, Phoenix, and Dallas have low cap hits because they can't afford anything more. For the last year of the contract they'll be saving 2M on the balance sheet (that Boston will have paid already). Even if they deal him in the third year, the fact that his fourth year cap hit is 5M but his salary is 3M makes him considerably more valuable in a trade.

I love cheap tickets

Oh and last game i went to, someone kept calling rask, tuukku... I dont know if it was a joke or if he was serious, but it sounded pretty serious to me...

edit: tuukka is a far more intimidating name than tuukku

We'll come around, and so will the bandwagoners. It happened in mid November last season. know because that was the last game I was able to move to a closer seat.

Baseball parks sometimes close off the upper deck for non sellouts, maybe the B's should close off the lower.
