I was kind of intrigued by one of Teemu's comments in the GDT and it got me to wondering what everyone did for a living.
So I thought that the regulars could give some info (if you're comfortable) and build a profile of yourself

Age: 29 Occupation: high school teacher Highest level of hockey played (if you play): NCAA, pro European contract (goalie) How long/reason you became a Hawks fan: Since birth... growing up in Ontario everyone was either a Habs or Leafs fan. I hated both. Gravitated towards the Hawks with Dennis Savard playing there. Sega Genesis reconfirmed belief in early 90's with Roenick, Larmer, Chelios, Smith, Belfour, Dirk, Sutter, Goulet etc.
Age: 27 Occupation: Currently unemployed, returned to school to get my degree. Highest level of hockey: Does pond hockey count? Length/Reason for being a Hawks fan: I have been a fan since the early 90's after going to 1 game. I never went to another until after 2000, but became a huge hockey fan. After that first game though, it was video games that truly kept me in it.
EDIT: Oh, I lived in Park Ridge up until I was 23 when I moved myself into the city. I lived within Chicago until 3-4 months ago.

Age: 27 Occupation: High school mathematics teacher in the inner city of Chicago Highest level of hockey played: Does gym count? How long/reason you became a Hawks fan: I've been a Hawks fan for about two decades and became a Hawks fan, because I've lived in the Chicago area for my entire life (I have been living in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago for the last five years), thought hockey was a great sport, and wanted to support the home team.
Age: 21
Occupation: Student/Butcher
Highest Level: College division 2
How long: Was always a Hawks fan, but got really into it around 11. Was my dad's favorite sport growing up - he played with Chelios for a year or two out of Evergreen Park - and I spent a couple years living in London Ontario. Hockey has just always been in my blood.
Age: 25 Occupation: Financial Planner Highest level of hockey: Nothing super competitive. I played Rep hockey as a goalie and select as a forward in High School. Length/Reason for being a Hawks fan: As long as I can remember. Grew up in Ontario and depised the Leafs and their fans. Chicago was in there Division, they were a good and exciting team. It just seemed natural. Huge Belfour fan too!
Age: 19 Occupation: Student in College of Education Highest level of hockey played (if you play): Played for team IL last summer How long/reason you became a Hawks fan: Loved playing hockey as a kid and naturally took up the Blackhawks as favorite team as I am from the metropolitan area. Favorite All-Time Blackhawks player:I thought this might be a cool thing to add. As for me it is Ed Belfour. A big inspiration for me to play goalie (later I switched to center because my team was so good growing up I never got any shots on goal).
Age: 24 Occupation: Work in butchers shop of small store Highest level of hockey played (if you play): Never played outside of street hockey and I sucked How long/reason you became a Hawks fan: When I was like 4 I saw Hawks on TV and have been a fan ever since

Age: 20 Occupation: Student at Indiana University Highest level of hockey played (if you play): High School JV (was never very good, but loved the game and stuck with it.) How long/reason you became a Hawks fan: Growing up in Homewood, I didn't have cable. It made the Hawks near non-existent to me. I knew we had a hockey team in town, but I had never really seen a game. I went to my first game when I was 6 or so, and it was awesome. Finally when we moved to our new house in Flossmoor, my parents cracked down and bought cable, and I was able to watch games (road ones obviously) regularly. And I've been a huge fan sense. Since then, hockey has pretty much passed baseball as my favorite sport, and the Hawks have drawn even with the Sox for my favorite team.

Hockey Played: Organized/Rec. League- Ball Hockey/Roller Hockey/Ice Hockey.
How Long/Reason I've been a Hawks fan: I became a Hawks fan during the 1990-91 season. (Pretty much their most successful regular season ever- Hawks won the President's Trophy that year. Belfour's rookie season, it was a great year...other than the playoff's of course. Actually a buddy got me turned on to Savard the year before but then he got traded for Chelly but I still remained a fan of the Hawks. Loved the Jersey's, loved Belfour, Larmer, Roenick and the old Stadium.

How long/reason you became a Hawks fan: I have been a Hawks fan for 25 years and I guess I'm a Hawks fan because my parents were huge Hawks fans growing up and I guess it rubbed off on me at an early age. I can remember b becoming a fan when I was about 4-5, watching Bannerman, Savard, Larmer etc. around the 84-85 season.
Weren't there only a few guys here for like 5 or 6 yrs?
Anyway alot of young ones. I am middle aged by average here. 24 going on 25!
I remember the 89 Hawks well but before that not much! I got into Hawks in 89 and I was excited as a kid when we got to conf finals.
Then I got to feel my 1st disappointment as a hawks fan (Flames in CF)
Then I got excited the next year , Only to be disappointed (Oilers in CF)
Then I was exctatic,,,,,,,,, Only to be pissed (F$@(!!% Jon Casey and North Stars)
After that it has been all up and down with me always expecting the worst to happen
Age: 31 Occupation: Online Marketing Highest level of hockey played (if you play): Street hockey (if that counts) How long/reason you became a Hawks fan: I grew up in Leaf country, and as a kid my friends and family were deeply in love with the blue and white. I instead started following a Norris division rival to be different, and loved watching Savard (still own his Jersey from childhood). They played the leafs 8 times a year, so I got to see them a bit more. My family still calls me the black sheep of the bunch.
Back then I can still remember at my parents house (long before Centre Ice, internet streaming, etc.) there was one corner of my basement that for some reason picked up a very static-y (i think 1010 ESPN?) radio station with my stereo. It wouldn't work anywhere else, and with only one particular radio. Some nights weren't great, but my dad would laugh at me for huddling in the basement corner on game night, when his leafs were upstairs on TV. Ahhh, those were the days.

How long/reason you became a Hawks fan: I have been a Hawks fan as long as I can remember. My grandpa and dad used to bring to games once a week or so when I was growing up and I began to fall in love with the Indian-head sweater. By the time I was 8 I could tell you who was on each line on any given day and I could ramble off stats like no other. Now I'm a huge fan of the Hawks and the NHL.
