Sabres Survivor-Game One-Round Six vs ATL (10/17/09)
Sabres Survivor Rules
-Pick a Sabre who you believe will score a point in tonights game. If you believe the Sabres will be shutout, you may select a shutout as your pick. If you are correct, you live on. If that Sabre is held off the scoresheet, or if you pick shutout and are incorrect, you've been voted off the island. However, If all remaining players in the Survivor Game are eliminated giving us no winner based on points. A series of tiebreakers will be used to determine the winner of that Survivor Game. The tiebreaker order is as follows: Most Shots on Goal. Best +/- rating. Most PIM.Most TOI.
-You can pick a player a maximum of 2 times in one game, but never consecutively.
EX Roy,Roy NO. Roy,Connolly,Roy YES. Roy,Connolly,Roy,Connolly,Roy NO.
-Shootout goals will not be counted as points. The player you choose must record a point in regulation time or in the 5 minute overtime for it to be counted
-If the Sabres are shutout, and nobody has picked a shutout for that game, the game continues on.The picks made for the game in which the Sabres were shutout apply to the next Sabres game. However, If a shutout occurs and a shutout was picked by a contestant than all contestants with player picks are eliminated.
-You can pick the same Sabre as someone else did for any given game as long as you have not used that Sabre twice already.
-Make your picks carefully. If you choose a Sabre who doesn't play in that game, you are eliminated due to that Sabre scoring 0 points in that game.
-Once a Survivor game has started, nobody else can join in until that game has declared a winner.
- Picks must be made a before puck drop of that hockey game.
-LAST MAN OR WOMAN STANDING WINS
Heading into the week the Sabres were thristy for goals. They had just 4 goals in 3 games. 2 games and 12 goals later, Buffalo's offense has definitely appeared. Despite allowing a season high 3 goals in the game, Miller was still very sharp stopping 36 of 39 Islanders shots.
Buffalo looks to make it 5 wins in a row and a perfect week heading into a meeting against the Atlanta Thrashers. Atlanta is playing some good hockey thus far with a 3-1-0 record which only makes matters worse as they're usually a tough opponent for the Sabres regardless of their overall record. Buffalo lost all 4 meetings to the Thrashers last season in either the overtime period or a shootout.
Tyler Myers had a huge night. 1 goal, 1 assist, 1st career multi-point game, 1st career NHL goal to lead the Sabres offensive charge. Despite 6 goals and 12 different Sabres recording points, Derek Roy was held scoreless which brings our Survivor game to it's final 2 competitors.
