According to FSN North, Martin Havlat is out for the remainder of the game with undisclosed injury.
If he's out any longer, Wild's chances look bad.

same place gabby got hurt, in Ahaheim, i dunno what it is about that place.
Wild are screwed with or without gaborik..
But after a lowly season they will get a franchise talent finally.

Wild saying Havlat is out with "an injury" and won't be back, update after. Sources say it's slight groin pull. Anaheim got Gaborik once too

It still amazes me that after dealing with Gaborik this franchise went out and signed Havlat of all people.

so it wasn't gaborik that was injury prone after all...its the wild
the most hilarious stat of the night on FSN:
wild's record after 4 games
09-10: 1-3-0
08-09: 4-0-0
07-08: 4-0-0
06-07: 4-0-0
classic, I think 1 or two of those might be 5-0-0's too

I feel bad for Marty and the Wild fans. Backstrom is too good to let you guys get an absurdly high draft pick.

Who were they supposed to sign? Who else was available at the time?

Considering Havlat signed on the 1st, probably lots of others.

The Wild just can't catch a break. What's with all the injuries the last 2 seasons?

He needs to go some to catch Sami Salo who is now out with his 38th injury in his career.

Injuries are why I was able to watch him leave Chicago and not have it bother me too much.

Just bump Benoit Pouliot up to the 1st line and we'll all finally see why he was picked 5th overall.
That's the luxury of having a superstar like that waiting in the wings.

I found it odd the Wild gave up on Gaborik because of his injuries and then went and signed one of the few players who's even more injury-prone than Gaborik.

Outside of Hossa and Gaborik, which players do you think they should've signed?

Hmm, also injured Mike Green's shoulder last year on 12/19/08 and ended Brendan Morrison's iron man streak on 12/12/07. Dirty Ducks indeed...

I don't really have an opinion either way. Cammalleri maybe? It's not like their only two choices were a couple of injury-prone guys or nothing though.
