lol....where was this when I was posting the Daniel Sedin thing like 2 minutes ago. Hang on I will copy and paste.

Daniel Sedin is questionable for tomorrow:
http://www.canada.com/Foot+injury+co...254/story.html
Quote:
Daniel is injured. He missed the Vancouver Canucks' practice Friday with what head coach Alain Vigneault called a "bruised foot."

Daniel's availability for Sunday's game against the Dallas Stars is in doubt and GM Mike Gillis said he didn't know whether there was any kind of fracture.

"We're waiting for the swelling to go down," Gillis said.

We almost had a replay of that pulled-goalie empty net scare situation in Edmonton. For some reason I found it much less stressful from the other side.

And Halpern was blatantly holding Naslund's stick to start all that. I think the hockey gods wanted to subtlety remind him that it's not nice to trick the referee.

Turco is starting.

And apparently if Lehtinen is good to go then Petersen, Sutherby AND Barch are playing instead of Brunnstrom, and Wandell is demoted to the 4th line which just leaves me incredulous.

WTF?

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...e.34151c9.html
Quote:
Lehtinen might play his first game of the season tonight against Vancouver after sitting out the first three with pain in his hip and groin.

He probably decide on playing against the Canucks until after the morning skate. Because a big part of his game is battling for the puck along the boards and using his strength to either protect the puck or kick it out, he said he has to feel his body can handle the strain.

Former Stars coaches Ken Hitchcock and Dave Tippett called Lehtinen a "fixer," a guy who can be placed on any line that's struggling and help that line improve. And Crawford said he sees the same thing.

"He's just so good at all the details of the game, and every coach is going to love that," Crawford said. "There's a reason we harp on those things, and Jere is a great example of why."

How many more games does Bruno have to play until he has to clear waivers. Maybe, the coaching staff is trying to persuade him to go on a stint in the minors. Sit in the pressbox to think about it. lol

He has played 58 and the cut off is 60. Once he plays 60 they can't send him down without clearing waivers. So you may very well be right.

Vancouver has recalled Desbiens from Manitoba.
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/stor...-desbiens.html
Quote:
Desbiens, 24, has yet to appear in the NHL.

The six-foot-two, 205-pound right-winger was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2003 NHL entry draft by Atlanta, signing with the Canucks as a free agent this summer.

Desbiens had 21 goals, 26 assists and 158 penalty minutes in 78 games with Manitoba last season. He's played three games with the Moose this season.

With the move it is expected that Daniel Sedin will not be available for Sunday's home game against the Dallas Stars.

Hey guys, I wish the best of luck to you tonight, should be a fantastic game with the way you guys have played. I am making the GDT for our board and I must say yours looks fantastic. Anybody know what the Stars lineup will look like tonight?

Thanks in advance,

Thom Yorke

These were the practice lines from yesterday. Brunnstrom looks to be a healthy scratch along with Woywitka. Hoping it's a great game, and yes Lobo rocks with the GDT!

Neal-Richards-Eriksson
Morrow-Ribeiro-Benn
Ott-Sutherby-Lehtinen
Barch-Wandell-Petersen

Grossman-Robidas
Skrastins-Daley
Fistric-Niskanen

Turco

Players for Dallas to watch out for:

Henrik Sedin - don't know how he's going to do without his brother, but he's still the Canucks best player overall with Daniel out of the lineup (I actually do think that Daniel is a bit better overall). Will be the canucks main offensive threat all night.

Alex Edler - not a very popular guy around here because of all the Niskanen comparisons, but he's actually a pretty decent defenceman. Has a really strong shot from the point and plays the 1st unit PP, shutting him down is a good first step to not allowing 2 PPG tonight, which would be nice for a change

Ryan Kesler - clearly the best non sedin skater on Vancouver, The pressure is going to be on him big time tonight with Daniel out to step up and provide some offense.

Prediction: Hard to predict, but given how the Stars have played so far and taking into consideration Jere Lehtinen's probable return to the lineup and Daniel Sedin's absence, I think Dallas has a good chance to win this one. It all hinges on how Turco and Luongo play though, so I could easily see another frustrating loss too... 4-3 Dallas

Grossman-Robidas
Skrastins-Daley

Sutherby played well in Calgary, but I don't think he should be bumping Wandell off the 3rd line with the way he played. I also don't agree with scratching Bruno before Petersen and especially Barch. Hopefully Wandell plays himself back onto that 3rd line by the end of the night.

oh man, I'd hate that. I don't like Turco very much and I definitely don't want him going to my other team.

For all intents and purposes, Brunnstrom has a goal and 2 assists for 3 points in 3 games to start the season. All while playing improved defense and while being banished from the top centers. Playing truly does equal scoring with this guy. Which leads me to believe Crawford is an idiot.

Or Heika is an idiot. He doesn't always report accurate information.

There's some logic to Brunnstrom sitting (I said some .... not that I agree). If they are trying to decide on sending him to the AHL before it's too late, they may want to see what the 4th line will look like before going without him.

Playing Wandell on the 4th line makes no sense at all .... Crawford can't help but gush about Wandell so this is why I'm just hoping Heika has blown another report.

Fantastic GDT, as always. Thought I'd update Sedin's condition. Soon to be on the LTIR, out 4-6 weeks with a broken foot. =(

Good luck to you guys tonight. I have this sinking feeling Turco's going to own us like he always does.
