I talked to BBO the other day. He said he does not want to run the Falcons thread this season. I do not have the time to keep it up like he did with constant updated stats etc... Though you can find some of those Seachd's fantastic prospect stickied thread or the link below.

I just wanted to say as well. I did not put it in the title. But discussion on the Stockton Thunder and their season is welcome as well.
Very excited about the Falcons this year. Huge improvements over the offseason. They should go from dead last to a solid playoff team.
2-1 after one.
Minard [1] (Potulny, Chorney)
Reddox [1]
Count me in as well on being excited about the Falcons this season.
That assist on the Reddox goal went to Arsene. Reddox scored with 11 seconds left in the 1st period.
The fans sound pretty jacked tonight but of course it is the home opener so no surprise.
Apparently they did sign Adam Henrich and Chris Armstrong as Prendergast recently hinted they were considering.
Listening to the radio feed (I joined part way through the 1st period). It sounds like it has been a pretty exciting game so far. Johan Motion apparently nailed Tyler Ennis with a pretty crushing hit.
Falcons are playing the Portland Pirates tonight just in case anyone reading this is wondering.

Yeah, I'm listening to the game while watching the Caps/TO game.
AHL and CHL game feeds (both web streams and radio broadcasts) can be found next to the boxscore on the AHL, WHL, OHL and QMJHL official sites. The web streams are the wavy lines, radio streams are the radio towers.

Although my radio feed just died for some reason.
Too funny. I am doing the exact same thing listening to the Falcons feed and watching the Caps/TO game.
Falcons now lead the Pirates 3-1.
Charles Linglet scored the third goal with assists to Minard & Henrich.
Ryan MacMurchy after putting up some nice points in the ECHL. Now makes Falcons opening night line-up. He must be pretty stoked much like Ryan Stone will be later tonight.
Taylor - Motin
Chorney - Armstrong
Arsene - Plante
Dubnyk
Sorochan
FALCONS SCRATCHES - Theo Peckham (Injured), Dylan Stanley (Injured), Cody Wild (Healthy), Riley Emmerson (Healthy), Bryan Lerg (Healthy), Matt Nickerson (Healthy)
On a side note I have heard a couple Daum interviews in the last couple weeks. Not that he said anything bad but when asked about his D corps. He never mentions Cody Wild and also mentioned his only real offensive D men are Taylor Chorney and Chris Armstrong. Did Wild just slip his mind or is Daum not a fan and that is why he scratched on opening night?
I like Daum pairing the young D men with the grizzled vets. I am surprised Fretter did not get some better line mates. He had 24 goals last season in the AHL. I also thought Minard and Potulny might play together but I guess they probably want to spread their big goal scorers around the line up.
I thought I heard they already released Dylan Stanley from camp the other day?

You're not the only one that thinks that the organization doesn't see anything in Wild's game. He was sent down very quickly in the preseason and is never mentioned in the same vein as any of the blueline
If possible, something I'd be very interested in is a Motin Big Hit Counter (MBHC). Obviously, hits aren't counted by the AHL, but for those that listen/order/go to the game, this could be a nice collective effort.
I have no clue? Maybe they just forgot to list him in the scratches?
Speaking of which I wonder which guys will end up going to Stockton? They will have a bunch of D men that could be in the line up on any night with Wild, Young, Peckham, Nickerson added to those in the line-up tonight.
Springfield GM Bruce Landon mentioned Daum did not plan to keep so many guys in the pressbox like Truitt did. Last season they used to sometimes carry probably 7 or 8 guys at times in the pressbox. I think they have a week or so before they have to send guys down for Stockton's season.
its funny the guy everyone cried over when he was in the nHL over schemp comes down, after spending all of last year in the show, yet he doesnt complain and has been solid all game and put up 2 points...
Potulny, Chorney, Armstrong, Reddox, Minard and Henrich all had a 2 point game. Good stuff.
Devan Dubnyk saved 31 of 33 shots.
Kip Brennan had a huge clean (according to the announcer) shoulder check to former Anaheim Duck Joe DiPenta. Apparently Dipenta lost it and was two handed chopping down Brennan's legs and it all caused a huge scrum. Brennan and Jeff Cowen each got 5 minutes for fighting out of the scrum. Good to see Brennan doing his job banging bodies and getting the opposition off their game.
Three stars of the game were Chris Minard, Devan Dubnyk & Liam Reddox.
The Falcons next game is tomorrow in Providence against one the perennial power house Bruins. That should be a good test for the boys.

Solid game by the Falcons. The line of Henrich, Minard and Linglet was clearly their best. On defense Motin and Plante did not look out of place and as ODH stated Motin really leveled Ennis. Brennan's hit on Dipenta was clean IMO and Dipenta got up and swung his stick across Brennan's legs like one would swing an axe and then all hell broke loose. 5200 in the house and hopefully many will return.
Was at the game tonight, and it was a fun night. The special teams worked out well going 3 for 5 on the power play and 7 for 7 short handed. The hit by Motin was when the game changed for the Falcons. They looked a little tentative to start the game, they weren't really skating, and weren't taking the game to Portland. After the hit the whole team started to take it to the Pirates.
The Reddox goal was sweet. He put it in about three inches of net over Enroths' shoulder. Paukovich got the nasty on after the first period, he started to throw his weight around, and got in the face of a number of the Pirates players.
Hopefully the team can maintain this kind of effort all the way through the season.
Hello all;
Bryan Young was a scratch also..........Big first game in front of a good size crowd considering the Eastern States Exposition is going on at the same time. The Springfield Falcons now have a $10.00 kids ticket so this should help out families that might want to come to the home games. On the Bad news side; The ice cast will not be seen this season lol
The Falcons should send in the game film to the league as the Portland Pirate player should be suspended & fined for his impersonation of Paul Bunyan,it was clearly an attempt to injure the Falcon player with that two handed chop.
Dylan Stanley is listed in the program as injured along with Theo Peckham.........
