Breakout year for JOSH GORGEOUS

I'm calling it now.

Josh Gorgeous is going to step it up huge with Markov out.

Going to finish the year at the #2 d-man.

He really stepped up for us in the playoffs last year when Markov went down. Hopefully he does the same the second time around..

Pretty good "throw-in" for the Habs. Brutal preseason then plays a gem. I think he has peaked defensively, since he is already good, but the offensive game can progress. He is probably more fit at this age and endurance will help him to play around 20-25 mins effectively.

I couldn't believe, just couldn't fathom at all that some people felt he may be scratched. This is the guy who stepped up BIG TIME last year, way past what I ever anticipated from him.

The Rivet trade was a BIG win for us, and Gorges is a key reason why. He will continue to do his thing and if he can step it up like last year and maintain that level of play he's going to be a major boon on the back end.

He's a legit top 4 defenseman in my opinion, and I hope he continues in that mold!

Are you saying he has only played one good game? Were you an NHL fan last year? A Habs fan perchance? If so, you must have missed him stepping up for us at the end of the year and being a definite top 4 defenseman on our squad. I don't think he played better on Thursday than he did last year, it wasn't an aberration.

If Max Pac becomes half the player most of here think he's capable of becoming, the Rivet trade could be one of the most one sided that the Habs have ever benefited from. It would have been nice to see what Burkey was willing to give us as it's nice to rub in Tdot fans that their GM got pwned by ours.

Anyone know what Burke was rumored to have offered for Rivet?

I think Ryan O'Byrne will have a breakout year more than Gorges. Having said that, both these B.C. boys will have to step it up to make up for the loss of Markov. I just think O'Byrne's improvement will be greater and more noticeable than Gorges.
