Sorry to cut in but I saw this transaction entry (Where Imran Khan is named as the Assistant General Manager) and was wondering if this is the Bollywood or cricket guy.
Khan, entering his second season with Tampa Bay, previously served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Development. In his previous role Khan worked with ownership and the General Manager, providing support in both business and hockey operations by identifying short and long term business objectives with a focus on the day-to-day operations of the Lightning and the St. Pete Times Forum.
The Lightning made a notable administrative move Friday, naming Imran Khan as a co-assistant general manager after the contract of Claude Loiselle, in the job since 2005 but hired by then-GM Jay Feaster, was not renewed. His contract actually expired on July 31 but remained with the team through Sept. 30.
GM Brian Lawton said the change was part of a process of getting the organization to “run more efficiently.”

In an interesting twist, Khan is a former intern of Lawton’s at the Octagon sports management agency, where Lawton ran the hockey division... But Khan, a 2005 Yale graduate, is only 26 and never has held such a high-level position on a team.

Lawton, who called Khan his “right-hand guy for me all the way through,” said Khan has the stuff to do the job of handling CBA administrative issues and helping with contracts.

“He’s the smartest person I know by a mile,” Lawton said.

In another move, Lawton’s wife, Angelina, was elevated from vice president of corporate communications to senior vice president.
