Sundin calls press conference - Update: retires
Darren Dreger is saying that Mats Sundin has called a press conference for 6:30am to make an announcement. Odds are he'll be announcing his retirement. If so, thank god. Hopefully this ends any more stories about him coming or not coming back. I would have loved to have him back for the right price and from the start of training camp but that can't happen now. Time to move on.

Go to bed, Darren. It's like 5:00 in Toronto, Christ. You've got the stupid preview show to do tomorrow.

Second that. He would be in the US if he was signing with a team this year.

We only have to wait another hour and a half before we never have to wait on Sundin again. I think I'll go play NHL10 in the meantime, and see what any team will give me for Sundin.

He's retiring 100%. If you're waiting up specifically for this, go to bed...I'm already playing NHL 10 anyway so

He made us wait half a season... now he can't even make us wait an hour.
Oh, how times have changed.

I am staring at two closed doors (at the press conference). It's 12.40 and it's clear he has not decided yet...wait! is that Sharks GM? No, just, Leif from TV4...two year contract with Animal Farm? One Rolex and a car? Booooouuuuu! "I don't have to practise or anything", just play 10 minutes and take care of the penalty shots, second goalie duty is part of the deal, too"

Sundin, you crazy SOB. Glad he didn't come back if his heart wasn't in it, unlike another Swede we all know.

I don't think you need the 'S' on the end of Nonis'. Haha, I've been waiting a year for you to slip up like that.

And what does that have to do with anything?
Mats is well past being a teenie. For adults looks are not (and nor should they be) the determining factor.
