Keenan breaks his silence

http://communities.canada.com/calgar...on-flames.aspx

Interesting to see Mike Keenan finally address the media since being fired. Comparing himself to Bowman is...well interesting to say the least. Doesn't really seem to be putting much blame on himself.

Also a quote from another article that I found interesting.
http://www.calgaryherald.com/sports/...525/story.html

Quote:
Other transformations instituted by Sutter & Co. include non-fluctuating practice times.
“It’s 10:30,” says Conroy. “We used to get texts because it would be changing, so you’d never really be sure. Brent wants to make everything, ‘This is the way we do it, this is the time we’re doing it.’ Very straightforward, rather than having it be, ‘What time are we doing this tomorrow? Is the pre-game skate at this time? Have we moved it back?’ Now (Sutter) wants to make it very simple, so we don’t have to worry about that stuff.
So what Keenan sent texts regarding when practise and pregame skates would be? Am I really reading that right? Just ridiculous if true.

I think it's safe to assume there were no texts on PP practice.

Reading all the comments that have come out since Keenan's firing from players on how things were done under him, it just seems like day and night when you compare his way of coaching to Sutter's.

If Keenan had showed he had done something positive with the direction of the team he might have gotten 4 years too.

I find it funny that he conveniently leaves out that one of Sutter's key goals last year was to be top 5 in goals against, and we finished 23rd.

True, the whole Sutter goal of reducing the goals against by 0.5 per game turned into adding 0.5 per game as Panthers refer to tongue in cheek as the hockey God

Does Rich Preston look like a guy who knows how to text? lol.

From the quips, it seems like good enough was "good enough". That's not satisfactory, and probably the biggest reason Keenan was canned.
