I think this really swayed my opinion on the rookie trio before, I don't know. I guess I just never considered the new guys as legit players this season.
Mayers was injured last night and has done nothing before that. Rosehill is much better. Not only does thast give youth but also some vetrans to help. that gives us 4 lines that can score and also the toughness needed

I agree about Mayers, but I seriously doubt Burke waives Primeau, he's here to stay for the time being.
that's a retarded lineup Ulmer makes...
but Ulmer appears slightly retarded when you see him do interviews
And creepy.

I won't lie when I say I think Stalberg-Bozak-Hanson has certainly been the most entertaining trio to watch here in quite a few years, and that I'd love to see them on the team ASAP.
But the Frosh Line should and will start in the Marlies, and depending on who falls to injury will be called up one by one throughout the year. We lose a top six center, Bozak is up. We lose a top six winger, Stalberg. We lose a bottom six player, Hanson will get his shot. They're gonna be quite the asset I think due to the flexibility the Leafs are now afforded.
We shall see Stalberg-Bozak-Hanson in Toronto full time next season, and they won't be with the Marlies.
Ulmer says "And the risk? None, really. These are men, not kids, so if poor play leads to a demotion to the Marlies, it’s a lesson well-learned."
Which doesn't take into account the whole "make the playoffs" thing. Not saying they couldn't make the post season with the kids, but it is a bit of a gamble.
I have Kulemin ahead of Hanson. I think Hanson has been helped by playing with Bozak and Stalhberg, but he could use time in the AHL more than the others.
A veteran will definitely find them self in the doghouse early in the year just as Wilson did to Stajan last year.
Mayers, Stempniak, Kulemin, Tlusty and possibly Wallin should be in the AHL. They haven't done much this preseason to show they deserve a spot. "What you have done for me" means nothing, it's "what you are doing for me right now" what counts.
Bozak, Stalberg, Hanson, Kadri, all deserve a spot. But I would understand if Kadri was sent down cause he is so young and it wouldn't hurt for him to dominate the OHL.

First of all, Grabovski will not be put on a 3rd line with and Bozak put ahead of him. An unproven NHL player will not be put ahead of a proven one. Bozak will be third line, grabovski will be 2nd, and stajan will be 1st.
2nd of all, Rosehill can fight, but he wont be making this years team, too young and inexperienced in fighting NHL players vs minor league players. Wallin is a test to see if he can keep up. I see him 4th line before Rosehill gets it.
3rd, Kulemin will be on the big team if he has really put on the 25lbs that everyone says he has gained. Stalberg, bozak, and hanson need to prove they can keep up with the NHL before they go 2nd line. There is a difference between preseason and the real season. They may look good now, but lets see how they do as the season goes on before we give them a 2nd line role.
Everything looks hunky-dory in exhibition season but around January when these kids are sucking wind it won't be quite as pretty.
It seems people forget that the trio has never played that many games in a year and against grown men in the most competitive hockey league in the world. Ridiculous article; why stagnate the development of Tlusty/Kulemin etc, for the flavour of the month. Absoloutely no harm in making the three of them play for the Marlies, learn the pro game, and let Kulemin and others play in the NHL. Its a great situation for the Leafs to be in, and I hope they're not rushed. Injuries will give them opportunity to come up to the Leafs durring the season regardless.
Not your prototypical 19-21 year old rookies though. These are 23 year olds who are physically ready for the NHL. I agree they will have a bit of a learning curve, but I don't think it will be anything near what you would expect with a 19-21 year old.

Yes, but mentally and physically unable to handle an 82 game schedule IMO. Schenn (the most NHL ready prospect) in last years draft played well, but looked worn and not the same latter into the season. No fault to Schenn, it is what it is.
