Rosehill for 6th man!

This kid has been nothing, but impressive in the preseason. He's been hitting, skating well, and is a big body that can clear the front of the net.

I don't know much about his hockey sense, or his skills with the puck, but a 6thh man should be able to do his damage in front of the net when the big four needs a momentum change/break.

Hope Burke can make something happen.

Hes a forward, but i agree. He has been excellent.

Rosehill's a forward..so as the 12th forward, I wouldn't mind him over Mayers.

EDIT: As Shaner says above ^, lol

He's certainly been getting noticed by the coaching staff. Otherwise he wouldn't have played in so many of our preseason games so far...

He's been a pleasant surprise so far.

I don't remember him being as 'noticeable' in the few games I saw him in with the Marlies.

He played defense last year. I think Wilson is just testing him out at forward because of the glut of defensemen we have. Defense is his natural position.

Just ensuring that it's clear he's not a natural forward.

I knew he was a pretty good fighter but I've been pretty impressed by his skating ability.

I'd MUCH rather Rosehill then Mayers. He's really fast and doesn't have that bad of hands for being an amazing fighter

Another positive is that he's young. 24 years old.

Rosehill Primeau and Orr? that's an intense 4th line.

He played forward for the Marlies last year, but was a defenseman for most of his career. He's still listed as a d but is a forward for intents and purposes. Teams cannot afford to play a guy like that on defense.

I hope he makes the cut.

Great 4th liner, and he could fill in on the blueline if needed.

I agree completely. Rosehill has been great and mayers has been a bum since the leafs signed him.

put Mayers on waivers and let some team pick him up.

Rosehill Primeau Orr sounds awesome.

He played both with the Marlies last year.

I think he could be this year's Johnny Mitchell, in that he could be a dark horse and make this team as a bottom 6 guy. He's definitely impressed with some pretty good skill for a tough guy, which fits into the new enforcer mold of being able to play. He would definitely help Orr in the fighting department, and would be able to play a regular shift without being a liability.

Rosehill and Mitchell on the same line will offer a lot of scoring and toughness.

I've been impressed by him too. He can skate pretty well, and has decent hockey skills for a fourth liner, plus I get the sense that he just loves to fight. I believe he led the AHL in fights or something last year. He would look good with Orr and Primeau on our fourth line I think. Which means bye bye Mayers.
