Hub, you really think we need more help up front? Shouldn't this be an opportunity to fix our biggest issue still, the back end?

Sorry Hub,

I've always respected your opinion,......but, DoMo must be feeling pretty stupid now for not taking that extension from the Leafs.

We don't have enough cap space after all the offers he's been receiving right?

where the hell would he fit in our lineup??...

Sturm Savard Wheeler
Lucic Krejci Ryder
Recchi Bergeron Kobasew
Thornton Begin Bitz
spares - Sobotka who will replace Thornton from time to time...

"DoMo" is not as good as our top 9 and we don't need overpaid 4th liners, so no thanks...terrible idea.

why not just save the cap space and come trade deadline with the pro-rated savings and the draft picks, get some talent via the trade route...

Kovalchuk if he does not re-sign with Atlanta and wants to test free agency
Hejduk - UFA next year
Foote - would be very good for playoffs only

They don't have 1.7 in cap space, unless you are planning on Sabourin being the back up and having Sobotka in Providence and going with only 12 forwards.

With Rask, only 12 forwards and only 6 dmen there is 1 million dollars left. Add Boychuk as the 7th dman and it's about 500k.

You don't see it because you understand how the cap works. Not everyone does.

That would be a nice little deal...trade one of our forward prospects maybe...ATL seems loaded on the blueline..

This...Is this was some strange alternate universe where Kessel is a Leaf and I consistently agree with Dr. Q?

Yup.

People also think they can skate by with just 20 players all year, too.

Morris is better than Seidenberg. Seidenberg is better than Ward.

Is Morris 1.1M better than Seidenberg? In my opinion, no.

Is Seidenberg 200k better than Ward? You betcha.

I do like Morris, I think it's a good signing, I think it's the wrong time and I think Seidenberg was a better option.

Oh, and in case the powers of deduction didn't already work...add a 13th forward and we're over the cap.

Hub, you reported the Rangers were involved to a degree in talks for Kessel. Any chance that something minor might still come out of those discussions?
