Heatley seems a little low to me. I see him up around 95 if not a little higher.

If anybody out there wants to change a prediction, feel free to do so. Any change will be welcome, unless it is totally unrealistic. Every player has up to three changes that can be made before it is a locked prediction.

Marian Hossa seems a little high to me given the nature of his injury and his estimated time to return to the lineup (I heard 6 weeks?). He will have missed roughly 20+ games. He may be off to a slow start and probably average a PPG, giving him roughly 60 points.

I'm predicting Hemsky will have a pretty good year, and will probably beat his career year of 77 points. I say Hemsky is good for 80 this season under Quinn who will take the leash off the young speedsters.

Jonathan Cheechoo- 60 goals 50 assist. You heard it here first.

But realisticly, I see him as a 25-25 guy, maybe 30-25

Van the sedins are right up there in evenstrength pts with all the big boys....but usually lack on the ppp........with Ehrhoff,Schneider added and Samuelsson, they could hit the 100 pt level...plus two (if not three)solid scoring lines for the full 82 gms rather than just the last 33gms.

Heatley would think he would hit the 100pt plateau,,,could even put getzlaf and Perry up ther as Bobby Ryan played about 60 gms due to cap restraints last year....another 20 gms for that trio.....incl in that they have a much better 2nd line now.....

Only 3 players scored 100 points last season. The Sedins have hovered around 80 points since the lockout. Do the math.

Whtiney (70PTS IMO), Ruutu (65PTS) and Cole (60PTS) all seem low to me from Carolina. Not sure on Brind'Amour yet but I wouldn't be surprised to see him and Cullen break 50 either.

I think both Vincent Lecavalier and Marty St.Louis will crack 90 points this season.

I also think Cammaleri is to high. I expect a 60-point season from him in montreal.

rest of the list is pretty good.

Something tells me Zetterberg is going to get 90 points this season. Also Semin and Kopitar should be a bit higher than 78 and 77 points respectively.

Have you ever heard of Jacques Lemaire and the trap?

Zach Parise will get 80-85 points MAX.

Quote:
There was very little down time. The pace was high with Lemaire and assistant Mario Tremblay often pushing the players to keep moving.

"Which is great," Parise said. "I think that's what everyone wants and I think everyone is excited about the little adjusments we're making. They're little things, minor things. We're going to be playing a little more up tempo."

---

Will the Devils forecheck be as aggressive as it was under Sutter?

"Yeah," Zajac said. "We didn't change much up or haven't yet on the forecheck."

---

But, those who expect the Devils to just sit back and trap the whole game -- as is Lemaire's coaching reputation, might be surprised.

"That's not going to be the case," Pandolfo said. "You can already tell by the way he wants us to play. It's not going to be sitting back, that's for sure."
http://njmg.typepad.com/devilsblog/2...lementing.html

Quote:
Devils coach Jacques Lemaire says the days of teams with a one-goal lead in the third period sitting on that lead and protecting it until the end -- a strength of the Devils' championship teams -- is a thing of the past in the NHL.

"It's over," Lemaire said today. "It's over. That was the time of the good defensive team and that is gone. Not that the teams are not good defensively. It's the offense that is in the league, the parity that is in the league. That's why you go back on games and you see teams, they dominate for a period and then it switches to the other team and then it switches again. As soon as there's a little drop in the intensity, anything that your team is doing well, as soon as there's a little drop, the other team takes over."
http://njmg.typepad.com/devilsblog/2...ve-in-nhl.html

Quote:
Does it bother Lemaire that he has this reputation as a trapping, lock-down defensive coach?

"When it bothers me [is] when a person from the outside come to me and talks about something that he just doesn't know," he said. "That bothers me. He'll say, as an example, 'Do you think this guy or that guy would be better in an offensive system?' Then, I look at him. Poor guy. Go back to school."
http://njmg.typepad.com/devilsblog/2...-he-wants.html

Now please, stop being so ignorant.

I'd have to say Parise could still get 90+ in Lemaire's system, the question is WILL he. If Parise doesn't get the same opportunities that Sutter gave him, then who knows.

Sedins should have career years this year. They've got 3 line mates now that can all put the puck in the net (Burrows, Samuelsson and now Shirokov). If one stops working, you can replace him with someone else. I'm going to say 90 points a piece isn't out of the question.

I also think Iginla could get somewhere around 90.
