Good move. Fletcher will add some experience. He drafts well too.

the Silver Fox is our good luck charm...brought us Schenn, Sundin, Gilmour...
I like that he'll still be around

Even if Cliff Fletcher sits up in the stands and eats popcorn and does nothing else I still like this signing

Good signing. For the things that man has done for the Leafs, he should have a statue outside the ACC.

Didn't think they'd give him 3 years given his age. Oh well, he really won't do much anyways.
The bigger story is all the great scouts the Leafs also signed. They are spending an incredible amount on scouting all over the world. Good.

I managed to snap this pic on my camera phone of Cliff mere moments after signing his new contract.

I love how Schenn, he of the one-dimensional one-year veteran, is uttered BEFORE (let alone in the same breath) of the superstars that were Sundin and Gilmour.
I will never understand HF logic, I guess.

Maybe because he's currently playing?

Fine. But it's just frustrating. Maybe because my franchise, in my lifetime, has never seen the likes of a Sundin or a Gilmour, but has seen the likes of a Schenn (or, at least, close to a Schenn). I don't know.
I hope you still got my point.

well when I type on HFboards I don't edit myself as if I'm writing an essay...the names just came out that way...
apparently in reverse chronological order..
but I'm all for the statue idea

"Brought you Schenn"? I think finishing in the bottom five brought you Schenn. Quite an accomplishment though.

Leafs didn't finish bottom 5. Fletcher traded up from 7 to 5 to get Schenn.

How exactly was Kenny Jonsson a terrible pick at 12th overall? Dude was a 0.5 PPG top-4 defenseman for the better part of 11 seasons.
