Nashville's gotta be up there. I can't wait for certain other teams to disappoint this year. It happens every season.

Toronto? Yes. Vancouver? No... they have always been good defensively. Maybe not top 5, but definitely top 10.

Wow, Toronto got 9th? I'd put NYR, Columbus, Minnesota and Nashville in before them.

I'd say it's between Anaheim, Montreal, and Nashville, with Columbus just a bit off. I go with Montreal though, because they are the deepest and they have the best D-man out of all of them... And yes, I do think Markov is better than Niedermayer.

Probably due to speculation about the systems Lemaire will run. Can't fault them for thinking that, either.

Because they were already a great defensive team before they added the best defensive coach in the league? Yea, losing Madden hurts, but it won't kill them.

I don't know how you can think Vancouver is overrated when they have one of the deepest d-corps in the league, a recent Selke-nominee in Kesler, not to mention a slurry of other strong defensive forwards, and Roberto Luongo in net. Plus they're coached by Alain Vigneault. They belong on this list. Maybe you disagree that they're in the #5 spot, but they definitely belong in the top 10.

Scott Gomez, Brian Gionta, Tomas Plekanec, Maxim Lapierre, Travis Moen, Glen Metropolit all of them play well in both ends. Sergei Kostitsyn hustles back as well, but won't count him. Plus, new coach Jacques Martin plays a defensive type system, but that isn't taken into considering for the habs, but it is for the devils ? LOL
