Ottawa - San Jose

Since its seems San Jose is making lots of roster changes since they have had no success and they need to add more players in trades now since they dont have many signed. This would probley never happen but it puts San Jose in better position with amount of players and cap space.

To Ottawa:
Milan Michalek $4,333,333
Ryane Clowe $3,625,000
Jonathan Cheechoo $3,000,000
Devin Setoguchi $1,246,666
Kent Huskins $1,700,000

To San Jose:
Dany Heatley $7,500,000
Chris Kelly $2,125,000
Jarkko Ruutu $1,300,000
Shean Donovan $625,000
Ryan Shannon $600,000
Jason Smith $2,600,000
Christoph Schubert $883,333

Ottawa Ends up with 20 players signed and $1.6 million in cap room. Can bring up young players like Karlsson, Lee, Bass, ect.

San Jose ends up with 19 Roster players signed and $2.2 million in cap room. Gives them some room to sign more.

LOL Waiting for some locks on this one

EDIT:

How about?

To Ottawa:
Patrick Marleau $6,300,000
Ryane Clowe $3,625,000

To San Jose:
Dany Heatley $7,500,000
Chris Kelly $2,125,000
Jarkko Ruutu $1,300,000
Christoph Schubert $883,333

This puts Ottawa 20 players 1.3mill
This puts San Jose 19 Players 2.45 mill

But Marleau needs to re-sign.

When is the last time 12 players swapped teams in a deal?

Atleast try to make your proposals somewhat realistic...

There is no other possible way San Jose can do a Heatley deal. Ottawa doesnt have cap room to take on more salary. San Jose cant offer more then one player unless they get more then the amount offered back due to not enough players.. I doubt heatley will go to San Jose.

Holy hell. The Sharks take pretty much the whole of Ottawa's bottom 6.

This would never happen. Too many players.

Then don't post proposals of things that arn't likely to happen...pretty simple actually. It would cutalot of bs off of this site, that's for sure.

Heatley can go to San Jose relatively easily. Its not hard for NHL GM's to "bury" some money through demotions, LTIR, etc, nor is it very hard to fill out your roster with inexpensive league minimum players.

However, SJ would still need to dump some salary back on Ottawa and not give away any more current roster players then they get back. Therefore it would likely be a 3 for 2 deal where the 3rd piece of the puzzle from SJ to Ottawa is a pick or prospect.

Heater and Kelly for Michalek, Clowe and Couture???

Ottawa then trades Smith and Donovan for a 2nd round pick, then trades Couture, that newly acquired 2nd rounder and their own 3rd round pick to Boston for Kessel..

(ok that last peart is too far fetched)

Why don't the Sharks and Sens just trade entire teams - they're each looking for a major shake up, no?

Why not, let see how SJ would do in the eastern conference.
