No surprise there. It's a 3 years contract.

Nope, thank the still-unemployed Dave Tippett for that too.

Good luck in Switzerland, Tobias.

I couldn't think of a worse scenario for Stephan to be in last year. His shakiness to start with, the unwillingness of Tippett to play him, the unwillingness of Turco to play well, the team's injury troubles and then the ultimate slap in the face: calling up ECHLer Matt Climie to play the last three games over him...

If I recall, his first career start came unravelled as well. He was pitching a shutout into the last minute of his first game...gave up a goal with just seconds left and I think he gave up the first shot in OT (?) and ended up with the loss...

This guy must live under a giant ladder with a multitude of black cats or something...

The Stars were all kinds of fail that night. Stephan stood on his head all game, keeping the Stars up by one despite being outshot, outplayed and outworked. Two idiotic penalties, the last with with literally seconds on the clock gave the Hawks a 6 on 3 and allowed them to tie it up.

After that night, I thought the kid was going to be a stud.

Always seemed like everyone was somewhat high on this guy. Sad to see him so shaky with so little playing time last season.

Unfortunate. I really hope he'll be back because he didn't get a real chance.

He's got great potential. Possible Swiss starting goalie down the line.

I think he'll be back once his UFA years come.

I don't think he's very impressed with Dallas.

His first game the Blackhawks scored with 1 second left in the game after Toews blasted a slapshot five feet wide that got re-directed by Robert Lang's face into the net. Jason Williams then scored on the PP early in OT. Felt a tiny bit bad for Tobias, but my team just won so it wasn't too bad.

He actually already is an UFA (Group IV).....

http://www.nhlnumbers.com/overview.p...AL&season=0910

The thing is, that there are just way to many goaltenders in the NHL and AHL and every year there are coming new ones....

I don't think that Stephan will ever get a 2nd Chance, because also with the Swiss Nationalteam he will be backup to Jonas Hiller at best... And only a great tournament like the Olympics or a World Championship would bring him back to the NHL and I just don't see that coming, considering the swiss depth chart....
