Ok this is some PTI Trivia for all you out there! At the end of the "Final Rundown" co-host Tony Kornheiser often closes the show by saying "Goodnight Canada!" and waving a canadian flag.

Why does Kornheiser say "Goodnight Canada!"?
Because the extended version of PTI is not available in Canada like it is in the US.
I think Wilbon said something a while back regarding Vince Carter and the Toronto Raptors and how Canada is a terrible place to play or something to that extent, so they just do it at the end now.

Didn't they say something on the show that got Canadians all up in a fury a few seasons ago, and after that Tony started saying it?
Wouldn't surprise me. Some of the stupidest moments (as in shove their feet in their mouth) they've had on their show is when they talk about things they know nothing about or haven't researched.

I thought it was because the first half-hour is shown in Canada on TSN.
ESPN.com -> Podcast section. The Full show can be heard on the daily podcasts.
Yep, I love how they added that. It's nice to grab the podcast if TSN doesn't show it that day. Only problem is that when some of the stuff is regarding highlights, you don't get to see it. But other than that, it's awesome.

This is right, but it wasn't the Vince Carter incident I think. I think it was something more current. It is was about VC than it wasn't said around the time of the actual trade.
I don't think he has been doing it for over a year, but He DID do it before the show did its little extension. It was specifically to apologize to Canadians, as PTI received a HUGE flood of angry emails about comments made on the show. They even had it on their lineup of things to talk about the next show. If only I could remember why, heck I even emailed them about it.
