Either way, as cptjeff said, why stop innovating? There really is no absolute perfection. We thought cell phones were great way back when and now phone's have basically portable handheld computers. Bottom line is innovation helps drive the economy (taking an economy course so have it on the brain).
Yes.

I, personally, do not want to see innovation die out.

Innovation is all well and good, but how much of a difference is this in reality? I don't know that it can be quantified.

Somebody probably said the same thing about these skates once.

Innovation just never stops, and one day we'll look at One95 and say: Wow, those were lousy skates.

Well, the one100 is almost the same exact thing as the one95, right? I just don't like how they're setting it up.

what?

for 900 bucks a pair of skates better untie themselves, jump the **** off of my feet, onto the ice, score a goal, that they assist on themselves, get back on the bench and give me a play by play on how it happened..

$900....

ridiculous

You see, what shlubs like us need to do is wait for pro sales to pick them up for $300.00 CAD.
I'm skating on pro return vapor 30s that I paid $300.00 for 2 years ago.

Unless you are playing at a very high level and getting paid to play I'm not sure how much benefit you will get from a $900.00 skate.

I'll be at the next Leafs equipment sale with a pocket full of cash and my skating socks on.

The majority of guys at "high levels" and getting "paid to play" are only making around 400 a week. (any league not called the NHL or AHL in NA).

Most regular joes make more money then these guys.

you are right but the performance gain of a bleeding edge skate won't be felt or seen by weekend warriors like most of us. So going out and buying the latest greatest the day it's shipped to the public or paying full price is kind of senseless. Well that is in my very humble opinion anyway.

I went to see my first ECHL game two weeks ago in Trenton NJ and watch a guy I skated shinny with regularly 2 years ago. I saw everyone on both teams had high end skates on, not sure if they have to buy them their selfs.

Any idea when these skates will go on the market? I ask because I assume the one95 skates will be sold on discount soon thereafter.

Nope, The Hockey Company is an ECHL sponsor, if they're wearing CCM or Reebok, it's free.

I'm pretty sure the one 95's are pretty much sold through. Bauer isn't producing anymore and they are out of stock on most sizes at this point. So unless you have a retailer that has some significant stock leftover, I don't think you'll see much in the way of a discount on them.
