Derek Couture is a scrappy forward with some skill . Is he a depth guy or will he be a regular ?

DiDiomete was assigned to Charlotte yesterday, according to the AHL transaction page. No release yet from the Pack, though.

He must be ready to get into games again. Hope to see him back in Hartford when he's ready.

I like DiDiomete. I think he has a chance to catch on in the NHL at some point.

I really hope your right as he is my style of player but i just don't see it happening. He isn't overly big he isn't a great fighter and he tends to take dumb penalties. But he is young and fearless

I'm with Dagoon on this one. I don't think DiDi ever gets beyond the AHL. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I don't think it's likely.

The Wolf Pack confirmed his assignment to Charlotte, btw. They also announced that Chris Chappell was returned to Charlotte.

I'll defer to you guys then. Dagoon knows his tough guys and Squish is our AHL expert lady, so I'm in a bit over my head here.

"[Michael] Del Zotto, he's got some real jam, hasn't he?" Renney asked. But he said the defenseman, chosen 20th overall in the 2008 draft, couldn't have helped the team as an 18-year-old last season. "He needed to spend time in the juniors, just like [Marc] Staal," he said.

He's noticed that a prospect he watched develop, 21-year-old Artem Anisimov, has been improving and playing on the third line. "You wonder if he can be more than that . . . You wonder what he and Grachev might eventually be able to do together," Renney said, referring to Evgeny Grachev, the Russian power forward with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Sanguinetti with a pretty ugly giveaway there. Its too bad because I think if he plays well enough he may well be close to a callup.

What exactly does Paul Crowder bring to the Pack? Doesn't score, doesn't assists, doesn't win faceoffs, doesn't win battles along the boards, doesn't hold the puck well, doesn't hit, doesn't shut down the other team... I fail to see why he is on an AHL team when should be down in Charlotte... I've only missed seeing 3-4 Pack games out of the 13 so far... How does this guy stick?????

looks like the Pack coaching staff has put their money on Chad Johnson... wonder if Zaba plays tonight vs. Bridgeport...

Johnson 9GP, 5W-3L, 2.87 GAA, 0.897 Sv%, 1SO
Zaba 3GP, 0W-1L, 4.84 GAA, 0.846 Sv%

Wiikman 4GP, 2W-2L, 3.27 GAA, 0.888 Sv% (no longer with Pack, with Charlotte ECHL)

Its good that these guys are proving their worth in the AHL -- since we opted not to give our a backup goalie in the NHL sufficient time during pre-season to get ready for the regular season -- so that they could get opportunity to shine...

Hello,

I am asking again ... about Ambuhl ... I see that he has now 13 games with still 1 goal only !!!

Is he doing fine ? does he has some ice time ?

I know that their is a difference between the swiss league and North America. That some time may be needed to adjust ... specially for him since he isn't really tall (already by European standards !) and physicality is more important in NA than here.

But still 1 goal and no assist in 13 games ... is a very questionable performance.
Then nobody mention him on this thread ... so he seems to be invisible/non existent.
The Ambuhl i know, even in poor shape, would have done more than that.

Is something wrong with him ?

tks

I don't know, I don't see what you're saying. At least at the end of last year he wasn't. He's a quiet contributor IMO.
