Then why wouldn't they have pulled the trigger when the team was actually really struggling and not when the team has been starting to be competitive night-in, night-out without Phil?
I don’t think they are that stupid, Kessel is to young to be brought to early after an injury, lets say they did do that out of panic and he reinjures the arm, it could cause way bigger problems in a 21 year old, who just finished physically maturing then for a older guy whos body is already matured fully. I think a Poni-Stajan-Kessel or Kulemin-Stajan-Kessel line would probably of been best...someone needs to go into the corners and screen the goalie, Kulemin or Poni would of been perfect...plus I mention Kulemin because when he was scratched he was practicing with Phil.

If we get out Goal Tended it will Ruin my night, then it will increase my loathing of the Deal that stripped us of our Future once more. The lightning were absolutely horrible last night. They looked like a confused team and that defence is laughable. They have about 2-3 guys on that blueline that shouldnt even be seeing minutes on any decent team. Smith got lit up and they were forced to bring in Nittymakki. Lecavalier seems to be playing disinterested hockey and outside of the big 3+ Malone that team has serious depth issues. If we cant win this game then the leafs are in serious trouble.

yea true, Stamkos is finally showing why some scouts were saying they'd take him over john tavares if they were in the same draft, the kids going to be something, on the flip side, tampa needs some cap room if Stamkos takes lecavalier spot, do you think lecavalier becomes available, and do the leafs take him, probably i would say, sure he hasn’t played that great this season but he would look great with Kessel and Kadri

His cap hit is an awful lot for an awful long time. He's one of my favourite players, but I think we'd have to give up peanuts (likely even get something) for taking him on at this point.

Thought I'd keep it a little fair and use the Malone pic. I thought the Stamkos one was him being hipchecked by Stralman (kind've like the did to Vinny, a vid I'm adding at the moment )
I think we're all pretty much in agreement that Stajan is the only center we have on the pro roster with the vision and passing (such as it is) to set up Kessel, but Blake? Yes, he's got speed, but he's an oft-described black hole of turnovers and poor shot selection. Is he suddenly going to realize that it's possible for him to pass the puck?
Blake has 81 assists as a Leaf in 2 seasons +12 games. Stajan has 61 in that same period of time, in roughly the same amount of games.
There are some tampa fans already begging for them to tank the season again. How many star players must end their careers in Tampa? Sometimes you forget they won a cup, since they garner no respect.
This game should have Bruins fans sweating. Things have been going quite well for their cause till now. They know what Kessel can do, and I'll bet many of them are going to be watching tonight with a bit of worry as to how much he brings to our team.
