We don't want Vinny. He's not worth your unreasonable demands. Don't take it as an insult, it is what it is.

Not saying that's what I want, just saying a team is going to have to overpay to get him.

I would love to see what Lecalvier could do in the West. Wouldn't that be a pretty impressive one-two punch down the middle for LA. Would be a great answer to what SJ has going on next door.

I know it's not going to happen but it sure would be a good trade...I think for both teams.
No way.

Probably a defense-man prospect like Hickey/Teubert/Voynov + 1st + Fro to really start considering it.

No need for Deslaurier. Quit Cogliano and Deslaurier and add Eberle or a 1st +

Vinny looks like he's going to die on the ice at times...and believe me it's not because of hard work but rather the opposite.

I've said it before and will say it again, Markov alone has more value to the Habs than Lecavalier.

Unless Lecavalier gets back on track Markov is a better hockey player on a much better contract.

Get Vinny out of Tampa Bay so he can join another mediocre team?

More mediocre considering Tampa actually has players on the rise.

That's great news for the Habs.. Vinny always plays good games when playing against the Habs in Montreal.. I wish Martin St.Louis didn't want to play in Montreal either...

Anyway back on topic...Vinny chose to stay in Tampa so just leave him there.Although IMO he might just need a change of scenery to get back to elite status again as it seems his career seems stale right now in TB..

You could add the Habs' top 3 prospects into this and it would still be a ripoff for the lightning. Give up.

However, I bet that GMs are actually a lot more hesitant to take on Lecavalier and his contract than the armchair GMs here. That is the kind of contract that can make or break your team for the next decade.
The only people who seem to make any sense at this point are these 3...

Are you kidding me? Yea, he's being shy because of these owners? Good job, I am glad you know what you are talking about. The owners basically said "we are behind you 1000%, this is pretty much your team just as much as it is our team". Nice try though, thanks for playing

I love Vinny and I don't think he will be traded. I have thought of a decent proposal in my opinion for a deadline deal.

To Boston:
Vincent Lecavalier

To Tampa:
Toronto 1st 2009
David Krejci
Blake Wheeler

Maybe it seems unfair, but I think it has what it needs to take Vinny away.

Why would Boston give up two cheaper players that are outperforming Vinny?

If that Toronto pick looks like a top 3 pick by the deadline, there's no way that deal materializes imo.

This (if that would be TB's asking price), along with the huge long term contract, the NMC and the fact that Vinny has not shown that he's back from injury and the jury is out on whether he can regain his dominating form, is the reason he won't be moved.

No GM is going to mortgage the future both in players and cap space until he shows he can be a top 10 player in the league again (let alone a top 2 player on his own team) and TB can't afford the PR shot it would take to get rid of him for less than a haul of talent.

To Blue Jackets:
Vincent Lecavalier 10m
Lukas Krajicek 1.4m
4th Round Pick 2010

To Lightning:
R. J. Umberger 3.5m
Nikita Filatov 0.875m
Rostislav Klesla 2.250m
Derick Brassard 0.765m
1st round pick 2010

It is time for the Blue Jackets to take the nest step. They have accumulated enough young talent to make a move like this, and I think the Jackets are one of the few teams that have the actual players to pull it off. This would happen at the Trade Deadline 2010. The Jackets currently have 10.020 million in cap space according to nhlnumbers.com They bring over some depth on Defence with Krajicek and I also think they would have to make another move to bring in a quality defensemen as well. Modin is also a FA at years end clearing 3.5m off the books and Torres as well is a FA clearing 2.7m if they opt not to retain them. Tampa gets a boat loaf of young talent to add to their rebuilding process now around Stamkos and Hedman. Is this deal close? What does everybody think?
First if I am TB I take this trade and run.
Secondly no team is going to give that much up. This trade would make TB a top 6 team with depth and CBL would be worse off.

I'm saying at the deadline. Every player here could get better or worse. Vinny could pick it up and make the deal look sweeter, maybe I was asking too much for BOTH Krecji and Wheeler. Take out Wheeler and make it a salary dump, then how does it look? I'm going to be biased since I am a Tampa fan, but I'm just saying it doesn't look THAT bad.

Considering at this point no one is even sure if Vinny is still at least a 70 point forward on a contract that lasts until he's 40 with a huge cap hit, yeah, it's pretty bad, even Krejci + lottery pick.

You're very unlikely to get more than Heatley got. Unless NYR want a major playoff push and send you Drury + a bunch of intriguing but not crucial (lower than Callahan, Dubinsky, Staal, Del Zotto) assets.

How to get him out of Tampa... Move the team to Winnipeg or Hamilton!

I would like to see the Gilbert, Cogs, + considering our $7 million man is hurt.

Islanders
Josh Bailey
2010 first round pick.
DeHaan
Trent Hunter

for Vinny

To little? I don't think the Islanders would persue him, but then again Burke said they made an offer at the draft.
