The Phoenix Coyotes have taken their first-step in the drive to get back to the playoffs by acquiring high-profile, high-scoring, an fleet-footed winger Mike Cammalleri from the Calgary Flames. In addition the Coyotes receive Calgary's 1st round pick in the 2009 draft (#20 overall)
In exchange for Cammy and the #20 selection, Phoenix sends Calgary its 1st rounder, the #6 overall selection.
Cammy is immediately penciled in on the Coyotes top line with Shane Doan and Kyle Turris.
A top ten pick for UFA? The guy isn't under contract. So, basically you've given up Magnus Svensson for a guy headed to Toronto in a couple of days?

The Rangers just got murdered on that deal. Forget highway robbery, that is highway rapery.
To Edm - Nikita Filatov, 16th overalll pick, Clb's 3rd round pick and prospects Maxim Mayorov, Matt Calvert and Brent Regner
To Clb - Magnus Svensson, Sam Gagner, 58th overall pick, Rob Schremp, Robert Nilson and Gilbert Brule.
The Oilers are thrilled to acquire Filatov, he's a dominant player and quite frankly could've been the top pick last year, Mayoro was also a steal in last year's draft and we look forward to him and Filatov forming our number one line in the near future. Calvert and Regner are two solid western prospects that will add depth to our team and we look forward to picking another prospect in the 1st round.

The Oilers are thrilled to acquire Filatov, he's a dominant player and even though Svensson will be a good player as well, had Filatov been in this draft, he'd probably have been a top five pick.
trade confirmed
Columbus is happy to welcome Gilbert brule back on the scene
We are also extremely happy with the aquisution of Sam Gagner a very high prolific young skilled hockey player on top of that nilson and schremp
We would also like to welcome magnus to the organization and we plan on playing him on our top line this year .
BREAKING NEWS
Rick Nash has heard of the magnus top line duties and he has ofically announced that he would like to be traded as soon as possible!

The reason that people aren't worried about recieving free agents is that there is no free agency, and no salary cap. If you recieve a free agent in a trade, it doesn't matter, he is part of your roster, and you keep him, he doesn't leave as there is no free agency.

I know im not in this game. But Edmonton... why on earth would you do that?
Question - Would Robert Lang still be on my team? Do you guys think he would retire? Come back? He is obviously on my roster since there is no free agency, but due to his injury, would I still be able to put him on my team?

Cuz I'm not a big Gagner fan, plus Nilsson, Schremp have done nothing since being in an Oiler jersey, Brule well he might still have a chance to rebound but thanks to Columbus has a lot of developing to do in the minors I think.
Svensson would be nice in a Oiler jersey but I know that won't happen on the real draft day,
Filatov well that guy is fun to watch. He could be another Ovechkin. Heck I'd probably even take him ahead of Tavares in a fantasy draft.
Plus the prospects from Columbus are good WHL'ers.
Gagne didn't fit into our long term plans, and we have guys that can step into his spot. In return, we get a physical top pairing defenseman.
confirmed
We wish Brent the best in Philadelphia and we are very excited with the aquisition of highly talented Simon Gagne. We also are happy to get a first rounder on top of that a 3rd and 4th round pick
San Jose has acquired Nash, Vermette, Novotny from Columbus for
Clowe, Pavelski, Setoguchi & pick 43, 57
confirmed
Columbus is sad to see Rick go because he's done alot with our franchise however we have aquired three nice young guys who will automatically be placed in our top 6.
On top of that we aquired two second round picks which we will be excited to use to pick up some more prospects for development. We wish Rick, Jiri and Antoinne all the best in San Jose
Once again I'll ask, as I need to know for my roster. Do I have Robert Lang? Would I be able to put him on my roster, expecting he'd be back for next year?

yeah that'd be fine
it doesn't look like his career is done
To Edm - Tyutin, Umberger and 4th round (94th)
To Clb - Vishnovky and Gilbert
The Oilers are pleased to add Tyutin to our blueline, we've always liked him and with our other Russians here (Filatov, Mayorov) we feel he'll fit right in. Umberger had a good year last year and did very well in the playoffs the last two years and will fit on our top two lines.
We thank Vishnovsky and Gilbert for their contributions but we feel we got two solid replacements for them in Tyutin and Ekman-Larsson who are younger.

Columbus is very excited in aquiring both Tom and Lubomir. They will fit in nicely within our d-man rotation and were looking forward to what these two can do. gilbert had a great season last year finishing 16th among defensemen in points and we watched him carefully and liked what we saw on how he can play 20 minutes a night. And we liked the aquisition of Vishnovsky as he will automatically our #1 d-man. Last year he had a good year until his season ending injury we hope he can continue where he started.
The New Jersey Devils have acquired Nathan Horton from the Florida Panthers for Jamie Langenbrunner, Niklas Bergfors and the 84th pick in this year's draft.

The Ottawa Senators are pleased to welcome young goaltender Trevor Cann from the Colorado Avalanche to our organization.
Trevor should start in Binghampton, providing them with top notch goaltending.
During his season with us, Alex Auld displayed great respect for our team and delivered everything we expected of him, and more.
With that being said, we are sad to see him go, but wish him the best of luck in Colorado, where he should be given the ice time he deserves.
On top of the goaltender swap, we have sent the Avalanche pick 46 in exchange for pick 33.
