You can rest easy now - at least on this subject. They're going by "Reebok" again.

I hear you big time and might have to do the same. I have these vintage pro-stock gloves but really don't want to wreck them and might see if I can snag a new pair with the old-school colours.

Ill be buying one, even though i have a retro....But still looks sharp, not a HUGE fan of the V neck, but thats okay. Too bad for no laces, but STILL a very very sharp jersey.

Hope atlanta's tomorrow will look nice.

I am guessing that a lot of those $5 coupons seasons ticket holders have received recently will be turned into these jerseys. At least if you can use multiple of them at the same time.

Love the Unis.
I'd be really interested to see all the others jerseys that were under consideration in the focus group just to see what they came up with. I like sketching new logos and layouts sometimes for fun. If anybody finds anything on that, would they please let us know? Tks

I like 'em, they look really clean and sharp. The collar is a bit weird at first, but I actually think it adds a nice modern aspect to the uni without going overboard.

Haha, I was going to say the same thing. Has that franchise ever made a nice jersey? When they unveil thier jersey tomorrow my only prayer is that they do not make a jersey as god awfully ugly as their thirds of the old NHL.

Can they make these jerseys the regular jerseys and just end the crappy unfinished jersey already?

I saved the Gagner one. They are the coolest $5 coupons I've seen by far. I'm going to have it laminated. My wife thinks I'm crazy but I explained to her that I spend way more than $5 on Oilers stuff all the time anyway.

Edit: Here is what it looks like.

They should redesign our dark blue jersey to the older style, ditching the red for silver and/or metallic copper.

Anyone have pics of the unis the Oilers wore in 1995-96 (that was the darker blue/copper with the copper shoulders)? I would mind if they just RBKed that jersey to replace our current regular unis.

Does anyone know if we'll see Garon's third jersey gear? Does he have a special mask for as well, of just the pads and gloves?

Definitely like the look. Sign me up for a Gilbert.

Quick photoshop of what the 3rds would look like with copper and a darker blue. The copper isn't quite right (more brown) but close enough to get the idea.

I just died a little inside after seeing that... didn't like the 96/97 look on the white jersey (they fixed it the year after by removing the shoulder yoke) and don't like that. Copper doesn't look good to me in large amounts. In general that pic just looks like a super desaturated version of the real jersey

btw, if anyone wants to know what was modernized... look at these pics:

The one on the top has stripes that are way bigger/higher and the crest may be bigger (its definitely closer to the stripes). The one on the bottom looks like its much closer to the ones revealed today with smaller stripes and what looks to be a smaller crest (or at least a lot of space between the crest and the stripes)

My brother sent me an email today that had a quote in it. Not sure where he got it from but if true it sounds amazing to me.

“Not only that, but goalies Dwayne Roloson and Mathieu Garon are going one step farther by tailoring their masks to stars of yesteryear. Roloson has a replica Grant Fuhr mask, except he has a cage. He'll wear white pads with some blue and orange piping like the Hall of Famer wore. Garon's mask is a hybrid of Fuhr and Bill Ranford, and Garon, who will start in the opening game, has blue and orange pads to go with the jersey.”
