is Rimer on today without tweedle dee & tweedle dum?
actually, I guess I need to clarify since there are so many at the station that could fit those descriptions?
I thought I heard them say yesterday that Spielman was driving somewhere on vaca (wish I could have those minutes back)
my 2 cents from yesterday, was that while CS & Hooley were being idiots and superior - they were right that the team needs to win to get top free agents, money alone will not bring them in. Rimer made it worse by tring to argue, he should have just conceeded the point and moved on. They must pay him a lot to try to put up w/ those 2

I don't think Spiels and Hooley were offbase in saying the CBJ needed to overpay. I think everyone agrees with and knows that. It was how they were expressing their opinion and the examples they used.
They talked Morrison at one point and Hooley said he'd demand $5 million per from Columbus and scoffed at Portzline's guess of $3 million per.
So, I guess they're getting Red White & Boom day off? Regular ESPN programming is on the stream and my radio.
Yeah - that reminds me - wonder if they'll remember to switch the stream to the preseason games when September rolls around (hmhm...@ Buffalo last year when we had to listen to the Buffalo broadcasters)

Haha. That's why I was sure to check the radio. We've had problems before. 1460 is professional like that.
Rims hosted the Big Show today (Monday) with BOB HUNTER.
I didn't hear all the show because the internet feed wasn't working for me, but I did hear the last part of it in the car when Hitchcock joined in by phone.
Have to admit, Hunter was interesting.
Rimer was noticeably AT EASE not having to spar with Hooley or Ricordati or listen to Spielman repeatedly say he "doesn't know much but..." It was NOTICEABLY better.
Hitchcock was very excited about the SIZE of some of the young guys who've come into camp, especially Teddy Ruth.
He also basically said Brassard has made the team, will play on the second line next to Modin and probably Chimera. (That was a bit surprising.) Hitch said Brassard is way ahead of all the other young guns in terms of NHL ready skills, but they don't want to throw him out there with a bunch of young guys.

Well, that's good ... because we've now traded all the young guys.
Is it supposed to be good news that Brass is ahead of Voracek in NHL ready skills? I can't decide ...
Considering the underwhelming performance while he was up last year and the accolades piling up behind Voracek, one would think it'd be close.
you got it, r2 ... and then I started thinking about what I heard Hitch say coming out of Big Boy Camp last year. Hitch said both Brule and Hainsey displayed the most dramatically improved athleticism and physical conditioning - now considering these two are no longer with us ... should Brass be worried about get praised by Hitch? I also remember Hitch saying Chimera was poised for his "breakout" year and that Nash would "dominate" the league. I'm guessing that maybe Hitch jinxed them all - OR Hitch just doesn't know what the hell he's talking about

Chimera on the second line? Very shocking, but thrilled to hear Brass has a chance to really stick and contribute at the top. Good news!

What were you expecting? He missed a large chunk of the beginning of his first pro season with a broken jaw. Missed almost all of the season before that with another injury. Id say hes at least a year behind everyone else in his draft class and he still didnt look out of place here, just not that great. If he stays healthy, theres no reason not to expect good things from him this year. The argument can be made about him staying healthy this year, however.
if brass is displaying skill, he is on the trade block. we dont need any of that kind around these parts. doesnt he know we are trying to construct a team that will be a Guinness record for "largest team in the new nhl"
although it would be fun to see brass passing to chimmer over and over, only to have the chimmer trip over scoring opportunity after opportunity
