Maybe we could ice a unit of Gaborik-Straka-Havlat
Warrener-Eaton
Hasek
....after the game to keep the swelling down.

Gaborik's oft injured groin is the absolutely the biggest wussy in the NHL, hands down. Stay away from him.

Only you can prevent joke stealing.

This whole thing sounds ridiculous. It really looks like nothing more than conjecture resulting from the Pens having room to maneuver and their apparent loss at wing. Only in my dreams does Gaborik play next to Crosby; they are very nice dreams. But, unfortunately, like my dreams where i score the game winner in game seven of the SCF and celebrate with my famously gorgeous wife, i don't see this one happening.

BTW, you guys need get off the rock. Most of us would have gone Randy Marsh with ectoplasm if the Penguins acquired Gaborik a couple years ago. Now you are too high and mighty for a forty goal scorer with world class speed and hands? We are lucky to have the players we have and to even have the team in Pittsburgh. Don't get too cocky.

Methinks this has more to do with his high contract demand and the cap implication.

If Gaborik can be signed for 2 million everyone here would give his spleen to see him as a Penguin.

Talent-wise, Gabby would be top notch. But, all factors considered, I'd rather have Rolston from Minny than him. More durable, much better defensively, veteran presence. I think he'd be a great fit here.

I would change Rolston for Brunette. Would be cheaper.

Maybe a bit cheaper, but Brunette's way too slow for my liking. I've always just been a Rolston fan.

Gaborik would be nice, and we could go after him after this season since he is a UFA, but I'd rather have Hossa, and I'm wary of his injuries. In the end, if we couldn't get Hossa but we could get Gaborik next season for around $7M (or less) then I'd be pretty happy. But overall, I'm not as crazy over getting Gaborik as I am for Hossa.

Anyway. I'd love Gabby on our team, but it won't happen. I'd easily trade Jordan Staal + a few other things. Maybe, add a prospect and a pick or 2. Jordan fits great with Minnesota and their very Defensive minded style. Gabby could be the wing Sid's been needing, but as I said, it won't happen

Martin Havlat, theres an injury prone guy.
Those 34 and 17 games might have something to do with it. As he's gotten older Gaborik's groin problems have gotten worse. Don't forget there have been times where he plays at less than 100% with than same groin issue (which is a credit to him, but not to his physical reliability). For the money, no thanks. He's going to be one expensive dude and expensive dudes you want to have assurances that he's not going to missing 20 games every other year or play hurt half the time.

Havlat is a walking MASH unit.

You know across these threads I see names like Havlat, Bertuzzi, Brule.. and I think to myself... what the **** is in these people's water that contaminates their cranial facilities the moment FA approaches and no one is signed right away?

Nope. I'd rather have a shutdown center (Staal) + Hossa, but if Hossa leaves (out of our hands...Up to him entirely) I guess, I would rather trade Staal + for Gabby. #1 priority to me: All star winger for Sid...I like Jordan, but he's not as high on my list of priorities.

I would throw up if Mr.Glass comes to the Pens.

Gabby is a *****, plain and simple, that shows flashes of brilliance a handful of games a season and then goes down with another injury.

With no enforcer, which the Pens do not have, teams like the Flyers and Rags would be taking liberties at him 16 times a year.

He'd be done by the All Star break if not sooner.

We should probably enact some sort of ranking system...

Havlat would be Mr. Glass
Warrener would be Col. Glass
Gaborik would be Lt. Col. Glass
Eaton would be Maj. Glass
If Roszival ever came back he could be Capt. Glass

...am I missing anyone?
