he would keep hossa and orpik... everyone else is expendable. thats what ive been thinking this entire off season so far. keep hossa, he should want to play with crosby, especially if our offer isnt far off from what other teams are throwing at him. keep orpik so that we have that physical presence. everyone else can be easily replaced.
Easier said (keep Hossa and Orpik) than done.

yea i just agree that everyone else really is expendable. i know its not easy. but hossa is a guy that puts sid in that next level if you can believe that.. losing him is taking a step backwards for sid in my opinion.

All Sid really needs is a trigger man. Ryder can come in and be that for a quarter of the cost of Hossa. I don't think having Hossa here has much bearing on Sidney's game whatsoever. If Shero gives him a winger who can put chances away, Sid is bound to have a career year, along with the guy who is scoring the goals.

I personally want Hossa to come back not because of his goal scoring or offensive ability, but because of his well rounded game. I have never seen a guy of his stature backcheck like the life of his entire family depended on it.

Clearly. Six years of using the team as a punchline to all of his lame jokes really helped him get to know the game.

Sounds like Fedko knows virtually nothing about hockey, unless you're not quoting him correctly or out of context. Malkin, Fleury, Gonch, Staal... all easily replaced, eh? Or maybe the problem is Fedko has a learning disability and doesn't know what the word "easily" means? Tough to say...

Fedko is still around? Holy ****... he was a joke way back when...

I still own a house in Pgh and I live there 2-3 months out of the year, but I honestly stopped watching WPXI newscasts when NBC lost their daytime NFL contract to CBS years ago...

Does he still do that lame ass bit where someone walks into him with the boxes?

His 'stache is more embarrassing than Crosbys...

none of them are going to free agency this year so i dont get your point..

its about the guys like laraque, beech, taffe, etc.

anyway, i just feel the same way, those two are the most important free agents we have.. bar none.

Hence my context / quote comment. Part of this summer's process is signing some guys who still have a year left, so if he's saying other signings are not a concern then he's not thinking. If he said "of this year's unrestricted FA" before the other bit you quoted, then that's pretty much stating the obvious I think. We all agree with that. No one is going to suggest the role player guys like Taffe or Laraque are irreplaceable so I'm not even sure why he'd make that comment, ya know?

Yah if we were to sign Tucker, we'd have more than enough fight in this team with he and Ruutu, and a few other guys will scrap when needed.

He used to have this bit where he did high school football games... he would go to games and do the highlights.. then he had someone who was carrying boxes walk into him...

He even would do the same lame ass bit when he went to pep rallies at the high schools to give away one of his Fedko awards to some unlucky athlete... he would walk up on stage to present the award and some kid would walk out carrying boxes and run into him...

My cousin knew the guy and said he was a ******...

Can't believe he is still on...

Welcome to.... The Fedko Zone.

You have to love his call in show on PCNC. I've cranked called that show more times than I can count.

One time I called in to ask if the Pens should go after this Russian kid named, Vladamir Doucheavitz. Fedko did not look happy...

he still does the friday night football games. my brothers and i all played football, and my youngest is going into his junior year at aaaa kiski area, so ill probably see fedko (or at least his crew) there at some point. i go to all the games since my bro is one of the starting linebackers.

I used to go to the same gym as Fedko. He is pretty cut, but it doesn't look natural whatsoever.

Fedko lost all credibility when he would say year after year how the Pirates would make the post-season. Once he got his own show everyone realized he was just a pretty face

Back on topic, I really can't believe Pittsburgh isn't either one or two on Hossa's list. If I'm him, the money isn't secondary because that will obviously come, but I'm more worried about my legacy as a hockey player and wanting to win some cups. Which is why I think Hossa has injected the Hossa to Detroit whispers.
