What does this mean for the rest of arizona? Can I no longer listen to coyotes games in my truck? Will they be broadcast aroiund the state in a similar fashion to before?
First-off, getting hockey off 1060 is a good thing. The daytime host, Bob Kemp, is not a hockey person whatsoever. In fact, he's never claimed to be interested in the NHL and has routinely had NHL people guest host segments once a week.
When heading home from the arena after evening games, the reception on KDUS was horrible. Heck, visit 680 AM any evening in AZ and you'll get a better reception from KNBR in SAN FRANCISCO that any AM station in Phoenix. Don't believe me? Try it!
If 910 throws-out a daytime interest in the Coyotes, I believe it would be awesome for raising more awareness.

Lucky you. Or right, they do not really cover hockey either. KNBR is terrible. It is actually kind of awkward here in the bay area since a cheesy, rock station (as opposed to a cheesy rock, station) covers the Sharks and the real sports stations do not give a damn about hockey.

Yakko,
KNBR must get rid of "Look at me Gary!" He makes more of a big deal talking about himself telling listeners why it's not cool to talk about yourself. Make sense?
KNBR is ALL about the SF Giants.
Having FM (albeit a rock station) broadcasts is so much better than A.M. and you cannot beat Dan & Jamie on the radio.
Hockey radio coverage sucks all over the west coast, as far as I am concerned.
I could care less who broadcasts the games I just want to be able to listen to them. I do hope that 910 boosts their signal though. I live in North Phoenix (40th st and Greenway road) and when when the sun sets the signal drops off to hard static.

That was the reason they changed. 1060 had the worst reception out of all the sports stations.

That is weird cause I get 910 pretty much everywhere I drive. I live in North Phoenix too. I am just excited because they are online and 1060 wasn't. I hated having to sit in my car once I was home to listen to the radio show after the game. Of course when it was an awful game I wanted to just shut it off. At least now I have a choice.
Anyone know if Matt Rosen is still with the Coyotes or what his status is.
I did enjoy his postgame call-in show. Thought he provided good insight and had very good hockey knowledge.

If I hear correctly he was eaten by a pack of ravenous wolves...
You can listen to all the games online from the stations web site. No more relying on NHL.com for their less than adequate (broadcast quality) broadcasts.
Now if they could only archive the games in podcast format...
Are you sure that's true and the NHL won't blackout unapproved streams?
There's a Listen live link on their site and the NHL doesn't blackout streams. Only the NBA, MLB and NFL do that. You can listen to any Canadian team via the internet and in the case of the Canucks you can download podcasts of the game (by period) from the Team 1040 website.
Exactly my point. Talk about more fans getting interested in the team around the world. Those fans outside the US now have a place to, in the very least, listen to every Coyotes game.
