I'm not sure how he expects us to acquire Kubina AND keep the #6 and #19 picks. If we acquire Kubina, we're moving down to at least #7.
I guess I could live with Lombardi and Umberger as the top 2 centers.
I'd try Lombardi with Nash, AP's point about his speed and opening up the ice for Nash is valid. This team needs some open ice speed in addition to Zherdev. Don't even mention Chimera's run and dump game...

can you, or someone else, tell me more about Lombardi. havent seen him play that much and his stats arent good. but stats dont really matter. just like to know more about him and maybe why he hasnt put up better numbers.
You mean Chimera's skate as fast as I can offside game
Both you and PA are on board, run Forrest run, but before hitting row V in the Arena miss another slapper wide right right for the 100th time and set a new CBJ record... Ok Chim fans, I'm being a bit harsh on the dude but after scoring those sweet goals on the heels of a fat contract-then a week later disappearing ticked me off...
Manny and Brass could be switched but I'm not sure about playing Voracek and Brass on the same line. Could be dangerous having them together if they make rookie mistakes.
Murray and Novotny fight it out for who gets to watch from the press box.
I'd be surprised to see Lombardi moved. He's on a fairly new and cheap contract. I seem to remember hearing that he and Nash had good chemistry, so that's good. His FO% is OK, but not stellar, so that may be a concern. BTW, RJ is just over 38% on face offs. Gotta get the puck to have a chance to score.

I don't know that much about him either, but he is a two way forward. His numbers aren't better probably because he's watching the backend most of the time. Which would be a perfect fit for either Nash or Zherdev. As for his speed, I'm taking that from AP who is probably more familar with him than some of us.

On Lombardi, I think Portzline was just kicking around if they get Jokinen at 5.5 or whatever a year, then Lombardi might be the odd center out.

AP mentioned the chemistry between Nash and Lombardi at the Worlds two years ago.
Waiting for the reason Lombardi sucks and the CBJ would be foolish to acquire him.... in 3....2....1
Not gonna get it from me Don't misread my previous post. A year ago a lot of us thought he'd be a great addition, and now if it's possible, then dandy.
I'd rather have Brassard in the AHL than the 3rd or 4h line, and I'd rather Voracek in Halifax, than on the 3rd line/4h line. Call me crazy, but in order to give your kids room to develop, you need to give them ice time...And sure they'll make misakes, but that's part of gaining experience.
I've seen Lombardi a fair bit.... the dude is FAST (probably faster than Chimera) with better moves. If memory serves they've been using him on 2nd/3rd line in a defensive role, which would explain his somewhat meagre stats. I don't know if he's really what we need though, since it would kind of be an experiment.
