He was a very valuable addition to the team. He was our second leading regular season scorer. He wasn't 100% after his injuries. In fact, he was scratched from the final 2 KC Finals games.
He's a dynamic scorer at the ECHL level. He's primarily a shooter-he never passes up a decent shot. He can also drive to the net with the puck and create alot of scoring opportunities.
I'm not overly confident about his ability to be effective at a higher level. While he scores plenty enough, his shot isn't particularly hard or heavy. His scoring range isn't that big. Most of his goals come from within 15 feet.
Beauregard also isn't the best of skaters. His speed is suspect and he isn't particularly strong on his skates. He tends to get knocked down to the ice an awful lot. I would think that this and his scoring range were probably the reasons he went undrafted despite putting up outstanding numbers in juniors.
He became a much better defensive player as the season progressed. He was attentive to his backchecking. He saw limited penalty kill time (he did well) and the coach didn't hesitate to use him when the game was tight in the closing minutes.
Hamilton just exercised their option on him for next season. I'd be interested to see how he would perform at the next level. I assume that he's on a two-way deal, so he may see plenty of action in Cincy again.
