If I were Scott Howson, my first move would be to go get Mark Hartigan, seeing as he has two cups in a row, sounds like he is on a roll and the next team he plays for may win the whole thing again

Am I correct to say that only five current NHL teams have never played in the Stanley Cup Finals?

Nashville, Atlanta, Minnesota (Wild), Columbus, Phoenix.

Another cup for Detroit

Another chance to burn the city to the ground.

Great finish. I was cheering for the Pens, but it was clear that the better team won. Congrats to Detroit, they are a machine, and somehow it just seems right that they are on top again.

And we beat them, like, 3 times!

Poor St. Louis makes it in their first 3 years 67-70 and were swept all three (4-0) never to be there yet again.

Did a little research on whether or not Hartigan will get his name on the Cup. Here are the requirements:

Quote:
Currently, in order to have one's name inscribed on the Cup, a player must have played at least 41 games for the championship team during the regular season (provided the player remains with the team when they win the Cup) or at least played in one game of the Finals.

Just blink around here and one will miss the ball.... That's good though, not one piece of hockey knowledge goes unanswered, or challenged. As it should be.

I wanted to go so bad, soooooooooo bad.

But I watched and cheered, and was the most excited I've been since I saw Paul McCartney at Liveaid.

It certainly gets old for those of us on the outside jealously hoping that their team can someday compete for, even if but a little piece, the success of the team from Hockeytown. Until then I will continue to sit back, admire in awe and congratulate the Wings and their fans on another remarkable season.

You have your cup Hawkeye, Granny to. And to Lass, your team came back to make this series a series, no embarrassment in that.

I know what it feels like to be a fan of SCF loser, it's not easy, but just making it that far is worth it (even if losing is the outcome).

I would have to decide upon my next avi, after basking in the glory of this cup.

I was frantically looking for Stevey Y out there, i mean Scotty Bowman was there, but NBC didn't give me much of an opprutunity. As of now, I'm going to the hall for the 5th time this summer

And now, back to our regularly scheduled hatred of sports teams from Michigan, already in progress...

(nod to our fellow Central Division rivals)

Who is this "Modeen" the announcers keep talking about?

The announcers last night said that the team could "petition" to get another player's name included. Does that mean if he meets those requirements, but isn't sitting on the bench they can request he be included?
Wonder what is the process of the "petition".
