Anybody watch that show?
Never missed a single episode, and if I did went online to see it online, I simply love it.
Favorite episodes were the very first with those badass EVP's with the little kid saying "They don't want us" , the Lighthouse down in Florida, Eastern State ,the live show at the Stanley Hotel and of course this one:
I always suspected they could easily fake anything on the show, but really never got that interested in it anyway because whenever I'd watch, they never came up with anything definitive or conclusive anyway. The two bosses usually just dismissed anything the team found as "background noise" or some such and so nothing interesting ever happened.

I watched Most Haunted for the longest time (on the Travel Channel) but the truth is... all of these shows lie. I really think we would've had video proof of ghosts if they really existed. All of these crazies out there video tape and video tape and video tape for nothing...
You would have to be a mindless **** to enjoy what has to be the dumbest show on television.
Present company excluded of course.
I just have a interest in the paranormal. I do believe in ghosts but yeah all of the shows on tv are fake.

They do now every little sound is proof of the paranormal.

I guess I'm proof of why their producers might "polish up" and play up the evidence a bit for the viewers
I still have a passing interest in the paranormal - used to read a bit about ghosts and hauntings when I was young (I had a history of vivid nightmares as a young child so that might have played into it - I can still remember several of them 30 years later, that's how vivid they were). But it's also partly scientific curiosity - I believe if ghosts exist there is a scientific basis for their existence.
I've theorized that ghosts could be beings of living energy, playing off the Law of Conservation of Energy and Matter in the Universe (the law that states the total combined amount of energy and matter in the universe is a constant, so if matter can live, then when it dies shouldn't some energy come to life to balance out the loss?). I've also thought that they are indeed the soul, since it seems to me that the intangible thing we call consciousness shouldn't simply vanish when the vessel dies.
So I've been very open to the idea - if not specific examples - of the paranormal out of curiosity about its nature. But I also am a skeptic with slightly more than 0% confidence in the credibility of TV shows like this.

I'm in the same boat. The "unknown" has certainly peaked my interest. I mean, to really think about it...what happens to people when they die? How could someone not be curious about that? It's something that's going to happen to all of us eventually. So, after the body expires, is there this energy (some might call it a spirit) that is expelled from the body and where the heck does it go?
Or do we immediately walk into a light and meet old dead relatives and friends welcoming you into the "pearly gates".
Or, as you die, do you just cease to exist and your conscience and what we think is our soul is just completely wiped out?
It's one of those great mysteries that we'll all know the answer to someday. Or, we won't, cuz we'll cease to exist and any thought processes are long gone and we'll never know what hit us.
Either way, it's not like death has never been done before...people have been dying for years and years...it can't be that bad.

Nah they pump in music and it kills every sound. But they go did you hear that?. About 70 times an episode and ofcourse the home audience can't hear it.
I do believe in ghosts and believed that ghost hunters was on the up and up until this season or the end of last season.
I'm a big fan of the show because we lived in a house where paranormal activity happened. I too sometimes wonder about TAPS' debunking skills at times. I checked out the website you have linked. It seems they have a big issue with the moving lamp. I tried to recreate the SV.com explanation of how the lamp could be moved by pulling the cord. I put a small lamp on a small table with a table cloth. While pulling on the cord either the table cloth still bunches up or the tablecloth itself moves while pulling the lamp. I tried lots of different angles but to no avail. Either I'm doing it wrong or else some one is just blowing smoke.

I found some video of the top ten ghosts caught on tape, some looked pretty real. edit: not the site i saw originally but this one had some humorous and weird ghosts videos on it. the one at the bottom is pretty cool. http://toptenparanormalvideos.vodpod.com/
I'll try to find it. I'm actually staying at an apartment complex this summer that was built where the Rhoads Opera House used to be. If you're not familiar with the Rhoads Opera House, 171 people were burned to death in a fire in the early 1900s there and it's supposed to be very haunted, I'll keep a video camera around just in case.

I live in a house that has a ghost. And I do believe in ghosts I just don't believe these guys. I did at one time but then all this stuff has started to come out. Here are a few of the other clips I've found.
Who really cares if the show is fake or not? It's for entertainment purposes only. I watched the WWF/E for 7 years while I knew it was fake and I still enjoyed it. It's TV guys, c'mon.

The problem for me is at first they acted like they were real and professional. The other thing too is like I said I've seen them on the scifi message board and they were acting like you have to believe everything they say or you are wrong. With their books coming out too and like I said they are acting they are the end all be all of ghost knowledge when really nobody is. I was hoping they were going to be on the up and up and I beleive the first and maybe second seasons were but after that they only care about ratings and making money (which isn't a bad thing)
You know it would make sense if they faked some of it. If you look back at most of the early episodes they were lucky to get an EVP and nothing else. I'm sure the owners of the Lizzy Borden house were disappointed that they found nothing the night they were there.
