I became an isles fan because in '94 on the Rags way to the cup (unfortuantely) my whole 6th grade class was rootin for the rangers and i hated it..i could not stand it
I went to my first isles game when i was in 7th grade and thought it was the most exciting sporting event ive ever witnessed. I remember it like it was yesterday..i sat in section 313 towards the top and the Isles lost to the Winnipeg Jets 7-5. I think the game was in Feb. or March. The following year I went to visit my Uncle who lives in Maryland and went to the isles/caps game and watched Ziggy Palffy (my fav alltime islander--from when i started watching) score 2 goals to beat them 2-0. I felt like i was the only fan in the building.
The year after i asked for isles tix for christmas and went to an isles/devils game 1st row. I remember not liking the seats as much because i had a tough time seeing the far end of the ice. My mom's boss had season tix in section 210 so I went to a few games/season after that. A few years later my dad got us a partial season ticket plan in the same section. I kept those seats for 3 years until I went away to college. I would come home as much as possible to attend games, but nothing stands out in my mind more than Game 3, game 4 and game 6 of the series against the maple leafs. Seein the coliseum rockin when the isles won game 3 7-1....the bates' shootout goal we all remember so well in game 4...and forcing a game 7 in toronto.
Ive been to every home playoff game since (all
6 of them

against the sens, lightning, and sabres) but nothing matched the tenacity of the maple leafs series.
