RE-BIRTH of the HOCKEY TRIVIA

I ask one, you all guess, I confirm, guy who gets it right asks a new one.

Who is the all-time leading NHL points-getter to never have scored ten goals in a single regular season, how many total points did he have, and what is the most goals he scored in a single regular season?

Bingo! you're up, Chili

Chili 09-21-2004 11:02 PM

Who was the first player to play 20 years in the NHL?

Phil Laugher 09-21-2004 11:07 PM

Gordie Howe?

Chili 09-21-2004 11:12 PM

Not Mr Hockey.

I'll add a hint or two tomorrow am (if required)

Zetterberg4Captain* 09-21-2004 11:15 PM

Probably near the end of the season, team falls behind, changes goalie, team catches up and ties it, team needs win to get in, team pulls goalie in tie game, team gives up empty-netter?

:dunno:

Zetterberg4Captain* 09-22-2004 01:22 AM

Hint #1: It happened in 1989
Hint #2: the goalie replaced Kelly Hrudey
Hint #3: The game was between LA and Edmonton

Sideshow 09-22-2004 02:46 AM

Robb Stauber?

GB 09-22-2004 05:26 AM

Rollie Melanson?

Malefic74 09-22-2004 10:12 AM

Mario Gosselin

Edler Statesman* 09-22-2004 11:06 AM

Glenn Healy?

Zetterberg4Captain* 09-22-2004 04:03 PM

Malefic74 is correct!

Malefic74 09-22-2004 11:23 PM

Everybody knows that Wayne Gretzky scored the most points of any player during the 1980s. So who finished second to the Great One?

BM67 09-23-2004 12:13 AM

Peter Stastny

Douggy 09-23-2004 12:21 AM

I'll guess Jari Kurri.

Bergeron47 09-23-2004 12:25 AM

I'll say Mark Messier

In a season 90-91 one of NHL teams has set up a record, having ONLY 1!!!! "First Round" drafted player in roster (guess a team, player name?)

Sideshow 09-23-2004 02:50 AM

SJ Sharks, Pat Falloon?

I don't know if this is the answer you're looking for, but the LA Kings didn't have a single #1 pick lace up for any games during the 90-91 season. Larry Robinson was closest - drafted #20 overall, but at a time when that was a #2 pick.

Bob Kudelski drafted #9 in First Round 1986 Supp.draft :)

BM67 09-23-2004 10:15 AM

How many rookies have led the NHL in goals scored? Name them.

BM67 did get the last question right first (post 26).

Anyway I think I'll sticky this thread.

Mike Bossy
Teemu Selänne

Hab-a-maniac 09-23-2004 03:35 PM

Just Teemu. And technically, he wasn't 1st in goal scoring by virtue of a tie breaker. Mogilny had 76 as well but in 77 games!!! Bossy had 53 in 77-78 but Lafleur led the league with 60 goals that year.

Chili 09-23-2004 03:45 PM

I believe Roy Conacher and Nels Stewart are others.

pnep 09-23-2004 11:37 PM

Stewart Nels -- 1925-26
Cook Bill -- 1926-27
Conacher Roy -- 1938-39
Selanne Teemu -- 1992-93

and Malone Joe -- 1917-18, Cleghorn Odie -- 1918-19 :):)

None of Bill Cook, Joe Malone or Odie Cleghorn were "rookies".

Now can someone answer the question?

Zetterberg4Captain* 09-24-2004 12:50 AM

well was it Stewart Nels -- 1925-26, Conacher Roy -- 1938-39, and Selanne Teemu -- 1992-93 then?

Yes it was, but the question was how many were there. :teach:

Ask a question.

Zetterberg4Captain* 09-25-2004 01:11 AM

Who was the first player to play for all ''original six'' teams?

pnep 09-27-2004 02:41 AM

Vic Lynn
