the fans in Hamburg are in for a real treat this kid Reid will bring you out of your seats with his explosive speed and skills,,the nucks for unknown reasons let him make the jump and they will regret it.. I watched Reid when he was up with Canucks in the playoffs and many games he was the best player on the nucks,,never given the gravey of ice time , but when he was out they he was always flying around, hitting, making plays and making things happen.. I like many nucks fans are upset with the Canucks and you guys enjoy him this year as he won't be over there too long as too many teams want him.. and they will make offers to the nucks to obtain his rights.. this kid can fly, and I have been watching NHL for many years and he is one of the most explosive skaters I have seen and very strong and versatile.. have fun.. and good luck to your league this year. :handclap:

I like the enthusiasm, and as a Hamburg fan, I'm hoping Reid'll have some chemistry with any two of Bobby House, Mark Greig, Jacek Plachta and Craig Johnson, but very rarely have North Americans ever come over to the DEL and dominated right away statistically, especially in the past few years. It's not just about being faster and/or a better player, it has much to do with the entire cycle of it all: getting used to life in a new country, adjusting one's eating habits, language barrier in society, much less possibly in the locker room (only to a degree in this case), bigger rink, the new linemates, new team structure, very touchy referees who often call nothing or everything, etc., etc.
It's also funny how many North Americans with big statistics in the AHL/NHL/ECHL come here and do relatively little and other 'nobodies' make it here as the big stars!
Sure, North Americans usually do dominate the race for being the scoring leader, but there are many more in this league that have much more experience than the young Reid does. Still, I hope you're right, but I ain't banking on it. Not only might he not be among the scoring leaders, he may not even be one of the 5 best new players to the DEL this year.
We'll start to see in a little over a month's time!
