bob murphy the long time voice of my new york mets has passed away. just retired last year and now he's gone. we'll miss you murph!

At least he had humor about his mistakes during the game. I remember a few times he was found kidding around about how he couldn't make out plays like he used to.

Always a nice listen. Didn't appear to have a mean bone in his body.

When I was a kid living in CT circa 1960, I was an Orioles fan when Murph did their games. I used to be able to catch their games on the radio at night and I can remember him doing the Hamms's beer commercials. "Brewed on the shores......of the Cheasapeake Bay." Funny how things like that stick in your mind.

Thanks for the memories, Murph.

RIP Bob. You, Linday Nelson and Ralph Kiner will always be part of one my greatest memories, the 1969 Championship team. My deepest condolences to the Murphy family.
