Ales Pisa

I noticed that D Ales Pisa is in the system still, now do we still own his rights?? And if so, what are the chances of Rangers signing Pisa? Since we r going with the youth movement, maybe Pisa would come over knowing that his chance to make the team would be good.

not really sure what his rights status is...i think any team can sign him but the rangers might get compensation if they do? :dunno: i think that's an idea i heard floated before but someone with more ambition than me could look it up.

but i've heard from some people in the czech republic that it doesn't seem like pisa is coming back over...doesn't like the offers the rangers gave him and seems content to fade away into the relative obscurity of the czech leagues (from an american point of view anyways)

The guy is already 27 years old, if he doesn't make it this year, his chances of making it are very slim. He's shown very little in 53 NHL games with Edmonton/Rangers. He's a total offensive defenseman. Probably will never see him make our big team as an every day d-man.

a quick search through other message board topics about him seems to reveal he's technically a RFA holdout...but if he was gonna be over here he'd probably already be over, so i don't think he's going anywhere

technically we still hold his rights, but another team could sign him and we don't have the right to match due to a loophole...

but either way i wouldn't hold my breath waiting for him to sign...i'd say the chances of him being signed are basically zero

He's useless to us.
