Anyone have an opinion on him? Possibly a very good future NHL draft selection?

I've been reading some very good things about him. He seemed to have played very well in the recent Minnesota HS regional championships. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't he also play for the U-17 and at the recent Select festival too?

Alex made the protected list for the Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL). His brother, Nick, made the protected list for the Indiana Ice (USHL).

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders have acquired goaltender Alex Stalock and defenseman Brent Cornelius, the RoughRiders announced today.

Stalock, 17, was acquired from the Sioux Falls Stampede in exchange for a second round pick in the 2005 United States Hockey League draft. The St. Paul, Minnesota, product was selected by the Stampede in the second round of this May’s USHL draft with the thirteenth overall pick after starring for South St. Paul High School last season. Stalock backstopped the Packers to the semi-final of Minnesota’s Class A State Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

“We’re very pleased to be able to add a player like Alex to our organization,” said RoughRiders coach and general manager Mark Carlson. “He’s a fiery competitor who hates to get scored on and he will also help us with his strong puck handling skills.”

Stalock also played for Team Minnesota earlier this month at the USA Hockey Select 17 Festival in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He posted a 2.00 goals against average and a superb .920 save percentage in six games at the festival.http://www.roughridershockey.com/news/stalock_cornelius/

I ve never a goalie play the puck like he does. One problem he had is HS rinks do not all have high boards. So he wasn't able to use his skills all the time.

He dominated the state tourny. He is a good solid goalie who can play the puck.

Hard to say where he will go. Other MN HS goalies Hauser 3rd round, Gohering FA, going back to Stauber 6th round. Stalock will probally play USHL or some devolpmental league and should see his stuff against better competion. NA goalies just do not seem to get much respest. He plays the puck like Brodeur. Had i think 6 assists last year, on a team where he was the star and helped his d men and forwards with his puck play. Held Wheeler goaless in tourney.

Held Wheeler scorless in tourney.

He might have kept Wheeler from scoring a goal but Wheeler did have three assists in the game. Not exactly a bad day on the ice for Wheeler against Stalock in terms of manufacturing goals for his team.
