According to the ECHL, the Trenton Titans will face the Philadelphia Phantoms in the first ever matchup between the AHL and the ECHL. Should be an interesting preseason diversion.

I haven't heard anything about natinoal television coverage and I doubt it will get it. It is, after all, minor league hockey. wonsaknight 08-12-2004, 03:16 PM Easy win for the AHL. The ECHL is really watered down now. letsgoflyers75 08-12-2004, 04:55 PM Easy win for the AHL. The ECHL is really watered down now. Depends on the team, geography, and the scouting. For example, the Northern Division has quite a few good teams because of their geographic location, at least that's how I see it. royalsfanatic 08-13-2004, 04:51 AM Easy win for the AHL. I don't think so. I agree with MiniMe. The Northern teams are tough and I wouldn't automatically count the likes of Reading, AC, Trenton, etc. out against an AHL team. This is bogus. The majority of the players on the AHL team will be Titans in training camp anyway. It'll basically be an ECHL team playing an ECHL team. | ||
