It is a good way to build rivalry.....something the "N" and "A" don't have as much of anymore.

The NHL used to play 70 games with 6 teams and I've seen many a poster long to return to those days.

That definately would cut down on travel costs.

If this is the case and they get at least some decent players the league will be very watchable just based on the intense rivals that will develop.

The WHA should really have about 10-12 teams and play maybe 72 games MAX.
Playin a team 10 times in a regualr season will get old real fast.

The SEHL played 60-odd games with only 4 teams last year.

Really, there are tons of leagues in many sports that play a high amount of games with a low amount of teams.

All this WHA nit-picking is what's getting old.

I've been saying the NHL should do this for the past year now, I love the concept of developing a short series. For division matchups in the NHL (6 games a season) you could do 2 games at the same arena in a row at seperate times, and then a home at home. Other conference games you could just do the 2 games at the same arena together at different times.

The President of the WHA was on the radio AM 910 in Phoenix yesterday and said something about a 3 game road schedule. The example he cited was how he would like to see a team in Phoenix to have a division with Dallas. He said that way teams could go on a 3 game road trip and play DAL-PHX-DAL or PHX-DAL-PHX.
