Blackhawks Fan Roll Call

Hey guys,

This forum looks pretty blank after the database bit the dust, I just thought I would make a rollcall to see who we all are but to also hopefully get some activity in this place. Also, I am fairly new, so I guess getting to know fellow Hawks fans can't be a bad thing,

Well, my name is Paul and I live in the great white north also known as Canada. I am 16 years old and attend high school. Favorite current Hawk would have to be Eric Daze, but I also liked Eddie Belfour when he was in with the Hawks. Favorite band is AC/DC and my favorite food is chinese along with poutine and french fries.

This feels like an AA meeting. Hi, my name is Steve and yes, I have a problem. LOL I've been a fan for about 5 years or so. Don't ask how I became a fan after they started sucking, but I liked hockey. I live near Chicago, so I didn't know any better at first.

Favorite hawk. Hhhmmm.... I don't know, I'm scared that whoever I put, they'll trade away. Nah, I think I like Bell. I like his game, and not knowing whether he'll be a powerforward star or just another third line grinder. I'm interested in watching him develop. I think that's why I enjoy reading about the prospects so much. Trying to figure out who will be good, and what kind of game they will develop.

I guess that's my story. And yes, this forum is almost always pretty bleak. I think many people hang out at blackhawkzone.com and never feel the need to stray. Oh well. I still enjoy reading the perspectives of ther fans. There are a few more hawk fans around here than there have been in the past.

I am optomistic about the hawks development, so that makes me public enemy #1 with other hawks fans.

for the party and I have also noticed the thin thread count in th epast little while (although I read a lot more than I contribute, so I am as much to blame) I will try and give a little more, but don't profess to be an expert on Hawks issues. All I know is we have a long way to go to make a run at the Stanley Cup....

I'm Greg A.K.A Stuy. I'm 29 and live in Canada also. Been a Hawk fan for many years. Favorite Hawks as of now would be Calder, Bell and Arny. Hopefully the ABC line gets to play together again this year. Prospects I'm looking forward to seeing this year are Radulov and Vorobiev. Yakubov I hope turns things around. He really impressed me when he played for Red Deer. I also run hockey-humor.com for any of you that may have heard of it.

Y'know this does feel like AA... I'm Tom (or Ren), I'm 28 and I've been a Hawks fan for what seems like a lifetime. Like some of you guys I usually post on Blackhawkzone.com, but it's nice to get a change of scene every now and then.

I just turned 41...yikes! Have been a Hawk fan since I was 5 years old. Remember many of the good old Hawk days with Hull and Mikita and Tony O. I still remember that agonizing defeat in '71 when they lead in game 7 of the finals 2-0 and Eddy let that floater in from centre ice and it turned the game around and they lost 3-2...permanently etched on my mind. Favorite all time Hawk is Mikita.

At least in those days there was a hockey team to be excited about. My favorite Hawk the last couple years has been Mark Bell. I'm hoping the youth movement takes a dramatic leap this year with a good 5 rookies in the lineup even if it means missing the playoffs. I think Vorobiev is going to shock people this year, I think he'll outplay Radulov by a mile. Leighton is the real deal I believe and will unseat TBO in a couple years time and will be the backup this year gaining more ice time as the year goes on.

Hockey does take a back seat to music in my interests. I am a huge music fan, none of which is popular or likely to be known by many.

Been happily married 17 years to a wonderful woman who makes my days.

That's about all for now...oh and she is a converted Hawk fan now herself though we live in Calgary. Thankfully I don't live near Toronto anymore and have to put up with all the Leaf talk...uhhhh!!!

Hey, I'm Ryan AKA Patch2, and I just found these boards through a guy at work so I a Rookie here. I have been a Hawks Fan since I was 4 or 5 years old, and I'm 26 now. I live in Thorold, near Niagara Falls Ontario, and yes all I hear is Leaf Talk. Although Owen Nolan, and his younger brothers grew up a block away, so there is a little Leaf Pride now.

As for my favourite Hawks, I have to agree with the rest Bell has impressed me more than any other over the past few years in terms of the progress and develpoement. I got a chance this past year to see the Hawks play 6 times, 1 in Buffalo, 2 in Chicago, 1 in Montreal, and the last 2 games of the year back in Chicago. I recomend a trip to the United Centre to any Hawk Fan.

I've been a fan long enough to become disenfranchised. That's more or less all that needs to be said. I remember the glory days, and I hope they turn it around, but my hopes are dim for the shortterm.
I would hire Smitty to run my scouting in a heartbeat, but I've got to think there are better GM's out there looking for a job...

Hopefully with some of the prospects we've got we'll look good post cba.

Looks bleak in here. I am originally from Michigan, so I am Wings fan by birth.

But since I have been here (Chicagoland) for a while, I root for the hawks when they aren't playing the Wings. So you can sign me up as a Hawks fan (or at least a partial hawks fan).

I mean heck, I post more on this board that most gung-ho hawks fans.

As you can see, I'm new to these boards and am looking forward to posting this forthcoming season. Hopefully this will not be too depressing an exercise, considering the condition of the Hawks these days. I became a Hawk fan in the Keenan era. Maybe someday we'll make a return to the good old days.

I remember that goal like it was yesterday. Lemaire from center ice, Tony just missed it. Mikita was a beauty alright smooth as silk and made everyone better.
