I saw that Christoph Gawlik is going to Berlin next year......and Daniel Pietta is going to the Krefeld Pinguine next year as well. Just wondering a will they be starter for their teams? Thanks!
[GER] Christoph Gawlik to Berlin!?!?!mkc2 07-06-2004, 05:12 PM I saw that Christoph Gawlik is going to Berlin next year......and Daniel Pietta is going to the Krefeld Pinguine next year as well. CIsle 07-07-2004, 03:03 AM Can't say much on what Pietta's chances are with the Penguins, but Gawlik is supposed to be a prodigy of sorts, although small in stature. Seeing as how Pierre Pagé has more than followed up on his word to include young players in his regular line-up - and that quite successfully, if not simply motivated from the injuries and circumstances last season that required the youth to suit up - one would have to assume that the attempt will be made to get Gawlik the same type of playing time that Florian Busch got last season. In fact, Hördler, Baxmann, Rankél, etc. all got much more ice time than anyone had suspected before last season began. There's nothing indicating that this trend will end, especially with Germany's most promising young player now property of the Eisbären. Then again, Gawlik is awfully young. Time will tell, but Berlin is suddenly probably the place in the DEL where young players have the biggest chance of developping properly, IMHO. Safir* 07-07-2004, 06:53 AM Well Galwick is pretty small, but seems pretty much filled out for his weight. Height: 5-10 Weight: 190 lbs http://www.eisbaeren.de/module/team/detail.php?LANG=1&VMODE=1&CID=7&RID=49 I'll be down at the "Wellblechpalast" next season. OMG, when else do you get the chance to see a NHL prospect playing for the home town team.
