Classic Devil 06-25-2004, 01:40 AM Czerkawski, Mariusz
Berehowsky, Drake
O'Donnell, Sean
God no.
ctynan44 06-25-2004, 02:44 AM Here are my takes on the players you suggested......
Rucinsky, Martin Will want too much for his average talent.
Mellanby, Scott Good leader, but a grinder which we don't really need.
Knuble, Mike I'm not convinced that Knuble can produce without the likes of Thornton, Samsonov, etc.
Czerkawski, Mariusz Ummm.......no.
Barnaby, Matthew If the price is right I think he would look good in red and black.
Arvedson, Magnus He seems to be good on both sides of the ice but I don't think there is room for him.
Damphousse, Vincent Great playmaker but getting on in years. I doubt highly that Lou considers him.
Green, Travis Call it a hunch, but I just can't see Green in NJ.
Laperriere, Ian Expensive and older...not what the Devils need.
Nedved, Petr I wouldn't mind seening Nedved in NJ, I think it might be a good fit.
Nylander, Michael I like Nylander, but another team would end up offering a lot more money than he is worth.
Rolston, Brian I would love to get Rolston back in NJ, but he is gonna want a load of money that Lou would never give to him.
Sillinger, Mike Good player...might be a nice fit or might just be another face in the crowd.
Berehowsky, Drake Ack.....no.
Boughner, Bob Gritty, stay at home defenseman. Probably will want more than Lou would offer.
Cullimore, Jassen Good dman but can't see him in NJ.
Marshall, Jason Another 5-6 dman that we don't need.
Matvichuk, Richard I think that Matvichuk would be good in NJ but is going to want a lot of money.
McGillis, Dan Another gritty Dman that would look nice in red and black, but running out of room.
Modry, Jaroslav I have no interest in Modry.
O'Donnell, Sean Been there done that....good riddance.
Quintal, Stephane No interest here....
Schneider, Mathieu We have Rafalski and Neids....no need for Mathieu.
Slegr, Jiri No thanks.
Zhitnik, Alexei Maybe.....but would have to take a pay cut.
4 nipple finn 06-25-2004, 02:50 AM Selanne.... hehe
Niedermayer21 06-25-2004, 07:13 AM Where is Peter Bondra? If new ownership gives Lou a bigger allowance to play with, then maybe we can sign a Bondra and a Boughner. Two-year contracts to both would give our prospects just enough time to develop in Albany, college, and juniors.
I hope we don't trade Gomez and Niedermayer. I know Lou will do what is best for the team, but I hope he doesn't do it because we don't have the money.
I'm worried.
Duckz_fan85' 06-25-2004, 07:47 AM i smell a Toronto or a Ottawa ..or even the 2002-Washington Capitals if anyone like Peter Bondra comes in..
These teams in reason times, have told us that big spending in UFA doesnt work..
A tightwad is as effective, if not better than a fat wallet. :teach:
Look at Anaheim..Paid more...Got Less.. :dunno: :help:
:banghead:
:D
It's beginning to look like Ottawa won't offer Radek Bonk a qualifying offer.
I wouldn't mind seeing him given a shot on NJ (of course, at a lower salary than the present, which the Sens won't qualify and no other team will take).
4check22 06-25-2004, 10:06 AM I'd like a shot at both Mellanby and Arvedson. That would mean Marshall would be expendable. Arvedson would be some insurance if Madden decided to flee for the fat UFA $$. The UFA defensemen are a bit of a disappointment to me. We could use a physical blueliner with the Stevens situation. Bummer.
Classic Devil 06-25-2004, 10:26 AM If we could pick up Sillinger I think he would be a good fit. Same goes for Rucinsky.
Devilsfanatic 06-25-2004, 10:38 AM Kariya, Paul
:dunno:
4check22 06-25-2004, 10:39 AM Kariya, Paul
:dunno:I'd sign him . . . if he took the same pay he took in Colorado. :joker:

What about 3-4 mill per?
openicehit04 06-25-2004, 12:08 PM I would love Nedved. His wrist shot is top 10 maybe even top 5 in the league. Has great speed, good hands, finishes checks when motivated and can actually play defense. Is getting up there in age but is pretty much a guarentee for 20 goals which is always welcomed on the devs.
Egg Line
Friesen Nedved Kozlov
Pando Madden Stevenson(Brylin)
Brunner Hrdina Rass
:handclap:
4check22 06-25-2004, 12:15 PM What about 3-4 mill per?If he wouldn't mind being a second line wing.
jerseydevil 06-25-2004, 12:21 PM My name is Lou Lamoriello..I don't sign high profile free agents . This link should be closed immediately.
Devilsfanatic 06-25-2004, 12:28 PM If he wouldn't mind being a second line wing.
Or moving to the right wing. Honestly, a line with Elias and Kariya? Remember how Patty played center?
Kariya-Elias-Gionta
trade Gomez :lol
Bileur 06-25-2004, 12:54 PM Ewww you people are actually considering Arvedson that guy has the wonkies knees, back ... well his whole body, in the NHL. Talk about injury-prone. Plus way overpaid.
DownFromNJ 06-25-2004, 02:04 PM Gomez isn't going anywhere. You don't go into rebuilding mode by trading the league's youngest #1 Center.
MissionHockey 06-25-2004, 04:06 PM Having Craig Conroy could but beneficial to Parise.
BigBully4 06-25-2004, 07:52 PM All I know is that "Nedved" backwards is "Devden".
Pretty cool.
Ronnie Bass 06-25-2004, 09:17 PM All I know is that "Nedved" backwards is "Devden".
Pretty cool.
That is real cool. How the hell did you stumble on that one??
Meatwad 06-26-2004, 01:19 AM I'd like a shot at both Mellanby and Arvedson. That would mean Marshall would be expendable. Hey im also a Canucks fan so I have some info on Arvedson, hes a great 2 way player when hes healthy. He has a ruptured spinal disk in his back which has kept him from playing in Ottawa, and now Vancouver hes very injury prone and I dont think it would be worth the risk of Lou signing him. Also, Arvedson was quoted that he might retire this season.
