High Court declines to hear appeal on Newark referendum (http://www2.nhl.com/onthefly/news/2004/06/214822.html)

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - City residents will not have a direct say in whether municipal money is used to build a new home for the New Jersey Devils.

The state Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to hear an appeal by advocates of a referendum on the arena, a decision that upheld earlier rulings.

So it's through, huh. :)

We got ourselves a new arena in the making, folks.

That's excellent, hopefully they can start real soon. Anybody know when?

The Devils lease at the Meadowlands ends after the 2006-07 season. They really wouldn't have to start until 2006. That really isn't too far off, just three more seasons.

Well, from what I understand, ground would need to be broken by the end of this year for for the Devils to begin play by 2008 in Newark.

They should start in a couple months, and the rink should be ready for play in 2007/2008.

Ground has already broken in Newark for the new Devils Arena... I will soon be working on that job and Arena as soon as they need Electricians... ;) They have already knocked down some of the buildings and will be closing many others to start the escavating and ground work for the new arena... looks like the major part of the job will begin in September from what my business agent tells us... :D
