It's pretty sad when

11) Grant Hill 25.9

hasn't done anything in several seasons due to injury, yet he's still that high on the list.

No hockey players though, which isn't that all surprising.

I was really surprised. A few years ago, TSN reported that Schumacher made 277 million CDN (!) during that year.

I've never heard of about thirty of those guys.

Payton Manning? Alex Ramirez? Derek Jeter?
My guess is that all those I've never heard of are football or baseball players.

Manning- Football
Jeter- Baseball
Alex Ramirez, don't know who you're talking about. Alex Rodriguez or Manny Ramirez? Either way, they're both baseball players.

It's from my all time favorite episode from the all time best Sitcom.

Nothing beats the Episode with the Germans, even though a few come close

I still haven't gotten around to buying it on DVD but I'll probably do it this summer, my old VCR tape is starting to wear out.

Agreed.

For God's sake, how is it possible that those idlers with golf earn so much money. Luckily a guy like Lance Armstrong makes a decent living as well otherwise you would put a bullet in your head right now because of sadness.

The biggest question marks in my book belong to those 4 gentlemen. Grant Hill hasn't at least played 20 games a season, since what 4...5...6...years?

Didn't Kitna got most starts for the Bengals? Palmer $16 MIO??? :shakehead

R.Schumacher is only a shadow of his brother, why does he get this boat load of money?

Penny ain't the same player, since leaving the Magic.

I'll agree with you on all-time best sitcom but I prefer "A Touch of Class" as my favourite episode.

Did anyone see the top 100 most valuable team sports franchises (monetarily speaking) in North America that came out about 4 years ago? 8 of the top 10 teams were NFL teams. Of the top 100 only two NHL teams (Rangers and Red Wings) made the top 100. The Wings were around 40th while the Rangers were 87th.

Surprises:

Only three soccer players? I guess the big money really is in America.

Ralf Schumacher is the second best paid Formula 1 driver? Willi Weber (the manager of Schumacher bros) seems to be very good negotiator because Ralf isn't even one of the top five drivers - M. Schumacher, Räikkönen, Montoya, Alonso and Webber are definitely better than Ralf. And maybe even Trulli. I wonder how much do they get?

kinda sad when Carson Palmer is on the list and he hasn't played a single game yet.

And all three play for Real Madrid. I guess they're the only ones willing to shell out large sums of money for their superstars.

BTW, Zidane Zinedine is way underpayed at 15.8 million IMO.

I would think that some of the guys like Manning and Kearse are only that high due to their signing bonuses.

Surprised that Agassi was the only tennis player on the list.

Most of the players on the list made half or more of their money from endorsements, etc....it's not as if this is talking purely about player salaries.

I agree, there's nothing good to buy for 15.8M per year.
