TRADE!

To Clippers: #4, #34
To Bobcats: #2, Predrag Drobjnak

Looks like the Bobcats are going to land either Howard or Okafor... good start for a franchise.

TRADE!

To Trailblazers: #22
To Nets: Eddie Gill, $3,000,000

RUMOUR!

Trailblazers have #13, 22, and 23... they are going to take the slipping high school star Sebastien Telfair if he is available at 22. New Jersey will make the selection for Portland and the trade will be made official following the first round.

Hehehe, overpayment. When you're an expansion team, dealing both your picks to move up 2 spots is a bad move.Okefor will be Orlando's pick IMO.Dwight Howard has Kwame Brown esque attributes to him IMO.

Much like the NHL draft, it's a 2 man draft.

After Emeka Okafor and Dwight Howard, the dropoff is significant.

Good trade by Charlotte... chances of the #34 pick doing anything is slim to none.

Every pick in the NBA draft is huge. This isn't like hockey where you have the minors and multiple picks...you have 2 rounds to pick the best players, and no farm,so you bet your ass the draft is important. Why do you think the NBA draft is important? It's the cream of the crop...it's the 60 best players. The 34th best player is bound to do some good...Chris Duhon,Darius Rice,Blake Stepp etc will be there and will eventually become decent players.

You are way off.

The chances of the 34th pick in the NBA draft of becoming anything more than a bench player is slim.

The difference between the #2 pick and #4 pick is significant.

Both your trades need to be tweaked:

To Clippers: #4, #34
To Bobcats: #2, Predrag Drobnjak (agree to take him in expansion draft)

To Trailblazers: #22
To Nets: Eddie Gill, 3 million dollars cash

Telfair is so overrated. If he were playing in Oklahoma, he'd be going to a D-1 school next year....the only reason he's getting so much attention is because he's from NYC.

Yippy, go Bobcats :shakehead It doesn't matter anyway they're going to suck for atleast 6 years, and by then the temperate Charlotte bandwagoners will already be gone. So they will follow the Hornets and leave town.

Shinn was the cause of the Charlotte Hornets demise. They were one of the best drawing teams in the NBA, but still managed to leave town. The area was receptive to it as well as being intense about fan support. It's the same reason that the New Orleans Hornets are now being talked about in a potential move to Las Vegas under Michael Jordan ownership. Shinn shouldn't be allowed to have an NBA Franchise.

Honestly, I think the Bobcats are going to find a great home here in North Carolina and be productive. I'm hoping Okafor slips to the second selection, I don't trust Kwame Bro--Dwight Howard to develop into a franchise player.

I only saw Howard in the McDonalds all-star game... and he's a beast.

Phyiscally, he resembles Tim Duncan.

I take him over Okafor... he has more offense.

But it takes dominant defensive players to win titles...Ben Wallace in Det,Shaq in LA,Duncan in SA...the last 5 title winners had their best player being a defensive monster.

Well Kwame Brown wasn't exactly chopped liver coming out of high school either. He looked fantastic and like a sure thing type pick as well, but it just never came together for him. Talent alone isn't enough to make it in the NBA and often times players with a lot of skill get lost in this league if they don't develop the right way. That's the problem with drafting players straight out of high school. These players haven't developed mentally or been given a big enough challenge to see if they can raise their game to the next level. They often times come in with big attitudes, a hoard of "friends", and a lot of personal problems. This is because they haven't been humbled by playing at a higher level and learning that they aren't the world's gift to basketball. Sebastian Telfair is another one of those types of players that has the pedigree but not the patience. I'm expecting him to bomb out as well. For every Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, and Kevin Garnett, you have a Johnathan Bender, Al Harrington, or Stromyle Swift.

Okafor is great looking young athelete with a lot of college experience behind him. He played in college for a long time and developed his game the way it should be developed and thus, will contribute a lot quicker. I'm not saying that Okafor has the upside of a player like Dwight Howard, but he is what he is pretty much. He's going to be a player in the Kenyon Martin type mold. This type of player is welcome on my team any day of the week. Dwight Howard has dominated high school punks, Okafor has dominated college players. I'm taking the "sure thing", if you will.

So I assume you plan on driving down to watch a few games? Because I live a lot closer than you do, and I won't be going to any.. Remember this is the same fanbase that two years ago couldn't sell out NFL games, how do you think they will respond to six seasons with a losing record?

It's possible that i'll come see a few games, sure. It's just that in the NBA, the visiting team sells the games just as much as the home team. The NBA has the comfort of having a star player on almost every team. This is why teams like the Lakers have conventionally drawn the biggest crowds. Everybody wants to come out and see Kobe Bryant and O'Neal. Charlotte has once embraced a franchise, that's the truth. The Hornets were the hottest thing going here for a long time and Shinn did a royal job of screwing that up.

TRADE!
To DAL: Jerry Stackhouse, Christian Laettner, #5 Pick
To WAS: Antwan Jamison

TRADE!
To CHI: #7 Pick
To PHO: Future 1st, Cash, #31 in 2004 Draft

RUMOUR!

a - Apparentely the Chicago Bulls are infatuated with Oregon's Luke Jackson and may take him with their second lottery pick at #7.

b - Phoenix was in the running for Tracy McGrady and they offered Shawn Marion and the #7 pick... but later decided not to wait because Orlando said they won't trade McGrady until after the draft.

I just want to mention that Kwame Brown had a decent year, particularly defensively, where he was quite effective. I wouldn't write him off just yet

Weird, though, that Marquis Daniels, who went undrafted, and Josh Howard, selected at the end of last year's first round, are both promising rookies. Exceptions to the rule, I guess.

I'm sure there will be a player this year that will go undrafted and have a decent NBA career.

But it's like the lottery, the chances aren't very good that you'll draft a sure thing with the 34th pick... so why not move it and move up 2 spots?

Ben Gordon #3 to Chicago, UCONN teammates go 2 and 3

Shaun Livingston #4 to the LA Clippers, which I think is a good pick sine the Clippers are always looking 6 years down the road...

Devin Harris #5 to Washington, but will be traded to Dallas because of some rule where you can't trade your 1st round pick 2 years in a row.

#6 Atlanta pick Josh Childress....I thought they would definetaly take Luol Deng. I'll be real excited to see Jameer Nelson get taken...

#7 Luol Deng by Phoenix, will be sent to Chicago (not too smart by the Suns)

#8 Toronto makes a controversial pick with Rafel Arrujo or something :dunno:

#9 The Philadelphia 76ers take Andre Iguodala, I would have like to see Jameer since he is a home town guy, but isn't the route to go since AI will shoot the ball 40 times a game and they need someone who will rebound since the Big Dog Glenn Robinson is in fact that. Great pick for the 76ers.

And he fits into AI's style :D

Stephen A. Smith is great to listen to, but he's not talking a lot. He hardly said much at all except when the Sixers were on the clock. He's the essence of Philadelphia :D

Luke Jackson #10 to Cleveland (no idea who he is)

Andris Biedrins #11 to Golden State (can't they just call themselves Oakland?). First Latvian ever to go round 1.

#12 Robert Swift (he's white!) goes to Seattle.

Utah at 16 again, why does no one want the Naismith award winner as the best college player?

They take Kirk Snyder.

Jameer Nelson might fall out of the top 20! Whoever gets him is getting a steal!

#17 Atlanta, Josh Smith. My name is Josh(ua), I should enter the draft!

#18 is JR Smith, I didn't see Jameer Nelson going here, or to Miami with Odom and Wade

#19 Dorell Wright goes to Miami

#20 is Denver, with 'Melo and if they take Jameer...wow

Dickie V is having a field day ;)

WOOOOO!!!!! JAMEER GOES TO DENVER. Oh man him and Carmelo will be LETHAL!

although David Aldridge says he is getting traded to Orlando which will suck for him, that team is horrible!

Pavel Podkolzine #21 to the Jazz. He is 7' 5" the man is a freaken beast.

Viktor Khrypra? #22 to New Jersey

#23 will go to Portland...Sergei Monia, 3 straight Russians taken.

#24 Is Delonte West!!!! to Boston (:banghead: ). Delonte really cashed in. If I was him, I wasn't going back to school, once went 12-12 in a game and is an awsome FT shooter

#25 is Tony Allen, who beast Delonte and Jameer in the elite 8. :banghead:

he is also the all time leading scorer in NYS and the youngest player to ever compete in the adidas abcd camp and one of the more prolific players to ever attend the camp

hype is hype its more times then not legit, he wasn't on the cover of SI for nothing, he also out played dwight howard in one of the big city games where a lot of scouts and a few curious gm's where on hand, he ended it with a 3 point buzzer shot to win the game

They in fact did trade him. They traded him for Deng, who was picked right before them in the first round. So I will assume that is who they were trying to get but he was picked. Good draft for the Raptors IMO. They get two big men that can step right in right away.
