Rumour: Iverson for Carter deal in the works.

According to The Score, a Philadelphia media source is reporting that a trade is in the works that would send Vince Carter to Philadelphia straight up for Allen Iverson.

I must say there would be quite the mixed reaction within the city, and I personally would rather be keeping Carter due to Iverson's personality but maybe this could turn the Raptors around.

The Raptors have not commented on the rumour.

Apparentely this is the same source that had Jameer Nelson (draft eligible) going to the 76'ers... but one of the Sixers front-office people said Nelson is not a top 10 draft pick (Sixers have #9).

So we lose Carter, who's a wimp and a whiner, but talented, and we gain Iverson whos a whiner, but certainly not a wimp.

Id like that trade for the simple fact of shaking things up. And I dont think the city of Toronto would be too angry simply because we are getting another star back in Iverson.

Id have no problem with that trade personally.

I'd rather have Iverson. He may be a pain, but at least he is only injured 1/4 of the season as opposed to Carter who is injured about 2/3 of the year.

Nothing against Toronto personally (I've been there and enjoyed it), just that Iverson strikes me as a creature of habit, and not really a guy who likes change.

Yeah, I think so, but mainly because the Bulls aren't exactly contenders right now. Toronto has it's own baggage for the American athlete.

Anyways, why would the Raptors do that? Iverson scores more points, but he's a whiner and a coach killer. And he's signed for 6 more years and will make 22 million dollars when he's 37. I don't want him.

Tough one.

I like Iverson because he doesn't like losing ( you can see it in his play and behaviour after losing a game) He's just more serious. While I've seen Carter laughing and enjoying himself after a heart breaking loss :shakehead

On the other hand Carter must be alot easier to get along with while Iverson is "rumoured" to be a dressing room killer. Even though rumours aren't always true, he could just be frustrated with were the 76'ers as and Org have taken the team. Much like the rumours on Eddie Belfour before he came here. It turns out Eddie is the quietest guy and never caused us any problems.

Having said all that, I really like this trade. Its time for Vince to move on.

If the Raptors are smart they deal Carter for youth. High picks, good young players who work hard and give something for the future.

But the Raptors are chronically stupid. They'll keep this guy until he's worthless and then he'll leave and they'll get nothing in return. Stupid...
